Cordillera MSMEs exhibit OTOP at RSTW’s Techno Bazaar

BANGUED, Abra, Oct. 5, (PIA) -- Various Cordilleran products were

showcased at the Techno Bazaar, held at Town Plaza, as part of the week-
long Regional Science and Technology Celebration in Abra.

Each Cordillera province is presenting its unique offerings, including coffee,

muscovado, banana chips, loom-woven clothes and other variety items.
DOST-assisted Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from the
region have actively participated in this event.

The Techno Bazaar was officially launched by the Department of Science and
Technology (DOST) led by Undersecretary Sancho A. Mabborang along with
local officials of the province, partners and stakeholders.

For three days, the Techno Bazaar has generated a total sale of P258,498
from the 23 participating enterprises.

Mr. Melvin Bitog of Zed Antiques and Furniture has come from a long way to
participate the said Bazaar. He’s sold 3 sets of furnitures from Brgy. Caba,
Lagawe, Ifugao.

“Mula doon, mahigit 8 hours ang biyahe hanggang dito kasi dumaan kami
dito sa Cervantes, Ilocos Sur para maka join lang dito sa techno bazaar,” he
said.

Bitog expressed his eagerness to join more trade fairs here in Abra to sell his
products.

Garbo Bamboo and Woodcrafts owner Rachel Campol is one of the Abrenian
enterprises who have been actively participating the trade fairs of DOST and
DTI. She said that it is an opportunity to introduce her business and boost
her sales.

“I have participated the national trade fair in Alabang recently, and other
trade fairs of DOST and DTI. I always join because it is a way to increase my
business’s popularity and boost its sales,” she said in an interview.
DOST Undersecretary Sancho A. Mabborang said that supporting the MSMEs
by buying their products here will contribute to their growth.
"We had the opportunity to ribbon cut two exhibits in different venues. One
is at the Bangued Plaza wherein products assisted by DOST in their
capacities as STIs agents are shown and exhibited and I like to encourage
you to take a look and visit these displays and products and let’s contribute
to their growth by buying their products. The six provinces are represented
and you will be surprised to find many products that may interest you. " He
