New Software available for S2009 / S2016

We are pleased to announce the release of the latest software update for Simrad S2009 and
S2016 Fish Finder displays. This release merges the S2000 series of fish finders into the current
stream of NOS57. The software also provides some improvements and bug fixes.
Please ensure that other MFDs, Sonar modules and Structure Scan 3D are upgraded to NOS
57.x.xxx as well to provide compatibility across your network.

Improvements
1. Changes to the menu structure to make it easier to set for single or multi sonar networks.
There is now a clear setting so the user knows if the set is in single or multi sonar mode.
There is an intuitive menu structure with instructions to change out of single sonar mode.

 2. Improvement to the depth search and bottom tracking. This reduces the chance of
locking on to shallow depths due to surface clutter. This forces a deep search when the
unit is locked on a shallow depth value.

To upgrade the software:

1. Download the software file from www.simrad-yachting.com
2. Copy the file into the root directory of an SD Card (do not place the file into a folder on
the card)
3. With the S2009 or S2016 turned off, insert the SD card into the card reader of the
fishfinder
4. Turn on the fishfinder and the update will be automatically applied.
