Pythagoras Theorem (also called Pythagorean Theorem) is an important topic in

Mathematics, which explains the relation between the sides of a right-angled triangle.
The sides of the right triangle are also called Pythagorean triples. The formula and proof
of this theorem are explained here with examples.

Pythagoras theorem is basically used to find the length of an unknown side and the
angle of a triangle. By this theorem, we can derive the base, perpendicular and
hypotenuse formulas. Let us learn the mathematics of the Pythagorean theorem in detail
here.

Pythagoras Theorem Statement

Pythagoras theorem states that “In a right-angled triangle, the square of the
hypotenuse side is equal to the sum of squares of the other two sides“. The sides of this
triangle have been named Perpendicular, Base and Hypotenuse. Here, the hypotenuse
is the longest side, as it is opposite to the angle 90°. The sides of a right triangle (say a,
b and c) which have positive integer values, when squared, are put into an equation,
also called a Pythagorean triple.

Pythagoras Theorem-Right Angle Triangle

History

The theorem is named after a Greek Mathematician called Pythagoras.

Pythagoras Theorem Formula

Consider Any triangle given:

Where “a” is the perpendicular,

“b” is the base,

“c” is the hypotenuse.

According to the definition, the Pythagoras Theorem formula is given as:

Hypotenuse2 = Perpendicular2 + Base2

c2 = a2 + b2

The side opposite to the right angle (90°) is the longest side (known as Hypotenuse)
because the side opposite to the greatest angle is the longest.

Second: Constructing a line perpendicular to a straight line to a point outside of it:

The aim of the project:

Constructing a line perpendicular to a straight line (AB) from a point (C) located on it to
a point outside it (0) using the Pythagorean triangle

Action Steps :

(1) Set a straight line (AB) and then set two points on it (C) and (E) (2) To make the
distance between (C) and (E) (3 meters)

(3) Extend the measuring tape a distance of (9) metres) (45) according to the
Pythagorean theorem from (C) to (E), so that we have a right-angled triangle at C with
its vertex (D). (4) The location of point D is determined and a line is extended from it to
C, so we have a line perpendicular to the line AB, which is

What needs to be found?

To verify this, we apply the Pythagorean theorem

comments:

1) We have achieved an isosceles triangle and thus the perpendicular line CD on the
straight line AB from to a point outside of it D, and this has been confirmed by the
Pythagorean theorem.

2 In this method, we use the same previous goal and the same previous tools, so there
is no need to mention them again
