Embracing Islamic Architecture

• In developing the façade design,I found a wealth of inspiration in the rich and intricate
world of Islamic architecture.

• Islamic art and design have a profound history,

and their influence on contemporary architectural aesthetics cannot be understated.

• Alhambra Palace in Granada, Spain, is a masterpiece of Islamic architecture. Its

intricate stucco work, geometric patterns, and calligraphy showcase the stunning
beauty of Islamic design.

• The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi is an iconic
symbol of Islamic architecture. The façade features extensive use of
white marble, geometric patterns, and stunning domes.

• One of the most captivating aspects of Islamic architecture is the

• Arabesque patterns, characterized by flowing, interlacing designs,

• My façade design draws inspiration from the Dachang Muslim

Cultural Center's architectural excellence and commitment to cultural
preservation.
• I aim to capture the essence of the Dachang center's innovative
spirit while incorporating Islamic motifs and patterns that celebrate
local culture and history.

• In our journey to bring the façade design to life, I

leveraged the power of Rhino modeling software to
ensure precision, creativity, and adherence to the
project's requirements.

Pattern Selection

• In the early stages of our design journey, we

scoured online resources, exploring a myriad
of patterns, motifs, and inspirations.

• To bring these online inspirations into our

design, I downloaded the selected patterns as
JPG images. Subsequently, I utilized an
online converter to transform them into vector
format (AI). This step was crucial to ensure
precise integration into our design

 Design Refinement

Attention to Detail: Balancing Complexity and Practicality

• The milling process's limitation of not being able to accommodate Details smaller then
details smaller than 8mm requires a careful approach to design. 8mm are not
While intricate and delicate features can add depth and beauty to a possible!
façade, we must find a balance between complexity and practicality.
• Macro and Micro Balancing: I carefully balanced the overall façade
design to ensure it maintained an appealing look even with larger
details.
• Amplification of Key Elements: I highlighted specific intricate design
elements by amplifying their size to meet the milling constraints.

• By providing a choice between intricate and minimalist

designs, we meet the preferences of project
stakeholders.

• This variety allows for greater adaptability in different

architectural contexts and robotic milling requirements.

Precision in Milling

• It's essential to note that, for future assignments, we plan

to focus the milling process on particular sections of the
façade, especially those showcasing the selected
patterns.

• The final decision regarding these sections will be

subject to confirmation by our supervisor. This approach
is aimed at ensuring the highest level of precision when 400 mm
bringing our design to life.
