Part A:
OBSERVATIONS:
- Before a fire is formed, the wick of the candle burns and produces a flame.
- When the jar is placed on top of the lighted candle and closed, the flame starts to shrink in size and eventually extinguishes.
- When the jar is unscrewed after 2 minutes, there may be residual heat present.

When you cover the lighted candle, the ingredient of the fire triangle that was eliminated is oxygen.

Part B:
OBSERVATIONS:
- When the tip of the candle is soaked in water for 10 seconds and then attempted to be lighted, it does not easily light up.
- When the tip of the candle is dried using a tissue and another attempt to light the candle is made, it easily lights up.

When you soak the tip of the candle in water, the ingredient of the fire triangle that was eliminated is fuel.

Part C:
OBSERVATIONS:
- When trying to light the bottom of the candle, it does not light up.
- The candle needs a heat source (lighter or match) to be applied to the bottom part for it to light up.

When you light the bottom of the candle, the ingredient of the fire triangle that was missing is heat.

Guide Questions:
1. Materials representing the fire triangle/tetrahedron:
- Oxygen: The air surrounding the candle.
- Heat: Provided by the match or lighter.
- Fuel: The wax from the candle.

2. Lessons learned from the activity:

- Fire needs all three elements of the fire triangle (oxygen, heat, fuel) to be present in order to sustain and continue burning.
- Removing any one of the elements can result in the fire being extinguished.

3. In my own words, fire is a chemical reaction that occurs when heat, fuel, and oxygen combine to create a visible flame
and release energy.

4. Pros of fire:
- Provides heat for cooking and warmth in cold environments.
- Can be used for lighting up dark spaces and providing illumination.
- Enables certain industrial processes such as metalwork and glass blowing.

Cons of fire:
- Can cause injuries, burns, and even death.
- Can result in property damage and destruction.
- Can lead to wildfires and environmental damage if not properly controlled.
