OB INTERVIEW QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS GIVEN BY HR:

1) Ms. PALLAVI (2227745): Q: If an employee involves in unethical practices, how does

that affect the other employees and the organization?

Mr. Sridhar (HR): A: It will definitely affect both employees as well as the company.
We as HR need to take action as per the standing orders against the employee to maintain
our ethical standard.

2) Mr. SANYAM (2227754): Q: During the pandemic hit, what was the effect on the
organization? How did you motivate the employees? What were the major challenges
involved in it?

Mr. Sridhar (HR): A: In the pandemic situation, the most important thing was
awareness about what needed to be done and how to protect themselves. It did affect the
company because of employees’ nervousness and their ignorance of the impact of the
situation because of their uneducational background. The employee leaving the company
as well as being absent was a problem for the company. There were also situations where
the health of Employees got affected. Management was very supportive, be it Moral or
financial support to employees. Management gave assurance to the employees that it will
stand with them at any time during the pandemic situation.

3) Ms. GANGA (2227718): Q: What are the qualities you prefer in an employee to be a
part of a good team in your organization?

Mr. Sridhar (HR): A: Management always prefers qualities like Discipline, Motivating
peers, Promptness, Good at learning new things, and being active in the working
environment. These are the key qualities the organization will look into for its employees.
4) Mr. SAMEERA (2227753): Q: What kind of attitude do you most prefer in an
employee for your organization and why?

Mr. Sridhar (HR): A: As already said, Discipline, Motivating other employees are
important. Adding to that being humane and patient is required to deal with the situation.
The employee should understand the work that differs from time to time. According to
the situation, they have to work in a team with coordination and being able to improve
their performance by their own ideas, learning from other people, and giving their 100%
involvement in work in all they do. There should not be a “give up” mood in any
situation. These attitude characteristics are good for an employee themselves as well as
for the organization.

5) Ms. GANGA (2227718): Q: Within the organization, how are the employee conflicts
among co-workers dealt with?

Mr. Sridhar (HR): A: When people who work together see things differently, conflicts
arise. Ego problems or without coordination in teamwork can be the reason. Here,
communicating the importance of teamwork and how it can help complete the work
efficiently is the way. Coworkers should hear the thoughts of each other. “Why is a
difference in thoughts there and what is its impact?” should be understood. Why working
as a team is necessary? How it benefits everyone involved in the work? Needs to be
understood and how that impacts employees to give their 100% is important. Teamwork
is the way in which a person, as well as an organization, can grow and achieve something
bigger than both. So more training, motivations & implementations, and discussing the
impacts with examples will solve most conflicts among coworkers.

6) Mr. SAMEERA (2227753): Q: Being an HR Manager for 2 decades, what are your
observations regarding Organizational Behavior?
Mr. Sridhar (HR): A: In our industry, uneducated workers are more. We have higher
female employees and their thinking and understanding will be different. Making
everyone understand and having them coordinate with others is a big challenge.
Discipline in the work environment is very important to the organization. Employees go
on leave, and they extend the leave by saying silly reasons. They don’t understand how it
affects the work in the organization. Retention and absenteeism are the main challenges
in our company. Dealing with these problems affects the productivity and cost of the
organization.

7) Ms. GANGA (2227718): Q: As an MBA student what should we learn in HR? What
should we look forward to learning, to be an HR professional?

Mr. Sridhar (HR): First quality is patience and should listen to the opposite person to
know what their problem is. He should think about how to resolve the problem. He
should take time and come up with effective ideas for better leadership improvement and
solutions in the case of conflicts. If he doesn’t have patience, the whole HR is a failure.
HR leadership is not only for the HR department. They will be the middle person
between the employees and the management. An HR person should work for the
betterment of both sides. Being the bridge between employees and management, an HR
person should not side one way. Just for appreciation, if we follow only the management
way, we will reach somewhere and in the end, it will also fail. As well as if we take only
employees’ way, it will also fail in the end. We should be the bridge between both ways.
We should also respect and understand the emotions of the people involved. HR should
be the role model for others in the organization. A person should always have his own
ethical ideas. Just because someone did something, why can’t we do the same should not
be the attitude. Sometimes we follow and sometimes we sacrifice. HR should always be
on time and should be responsible. These are essential to achieve something in life as
well.
