1. The essay has a clear introduction, 2 or more body paragraphs and conclusion;
2. The introduction contains a thesis statement and information about the text.
3. Paragraphs have clear structure and identifiable topic sentence.
4. The conclusion summarizes the main claim clearly and does not introduce any new arguments.
5. The transition words and phrases are used to assist logical linking of ideas.
6. The writer was prepared with a typed, double spaced draft meeting all format requirements (Please check essay
format requirements)
7. Documentation of the text is adequate and meets citation guidelines.

Content 3P

3. Summary of the text is complete and accurate.
4. The writer stays on point and all the details support the main idea.
5. The writer provides corresponding arguments for his/her opinions and relevant evidence from the source text.

6. Connection between the personal reaction and the target text is explicit.

1.The author adheres to academic style and necessary level of formality.

2.The author uses quite complex grammatical forms and vocabulary.
3.There are almost no grammatical or vocabulary mistakes.
4.Very few punctuation and spelling mistakes.
