NACIONAL PARK “TORRES DEL PAINE”

LOCATION:
The Torres del Paine National Park is located in the Magallanes and Chilean
Antarctic Region, commune of Torres del Paine, province of Última
Esperanza. It was created by the Ministry of Agriculture, on May 13, 1959 .

FLORA AND FAUNA:


It has an incredible vegetation of coigue and lenga forests, and with wild
species such as calafate, It is also possible to find condors, culpeos, guanacos,
rheas, pumas and gray foxes.

WHY IT WAS DECLARED A PROTECT AREA:


It was declared a national reserve because it is one of the most spectacular
national parks in the country, due to the variety of plant and animal species,
and rocky mountains.

A HUMAN ACTION THAT DEMAGES THIS PLACES AND SUGGEST HOW TO


PREVENT IT:
The human actions that destroy these places are forest fires. Fires can be
prevented by not making bonfires or throwing away cigarette butts on the
ground
