1. How does Melanie define a good presentation?

2. What are the 3P's of a presentation?

According to Melanie, a good presentation is one that is well prepared and well delivered which means
that they have to do a lot of planning, preparation and practice. She called it the 3Ps. She also added
that, for some people public speaking is second nature. But, for most us we have to work hard at it.

She thinks that once you have a general idea of what you are going to talk about, you need to consider
your audience. Think about how familiar they are with the topic. What the audience need to learn, and
what do we think will interest them. We need to have our audience in mind when we plan the content of
our talk. Because, we want to avoid our presentation to fall into deaf ears.

I agreed with Melanie. A good presentation should need to be prepared and well-delivered. This involves
a lot of practice and familiarity with our chosen topic. Proper research and preparations are important to
make your presentation successful. You also need to connect with your audience. You need to
understand the current trends, hype, needs, reactions and wants of your audience. The material should
be up to date and relevant to the audience. You also need to encourage your audience to listen and
participate to make it livelier. You can include an ice-breaker games, use a short story, good visuals and
more to energize the audience. We also need to master the audience retention and make them
remember the information we have presented. And lastly, as Melanie mentioned, we need to be aware
of our body language and voice.
