Head Girl Speech

Madam Principal, Staff of the Arthur Waldron SDA Academy, Fellow nominees in this
prestigious race for headboy and headgirl, students, Good Afternoon, I begin by
giving thanks to God for being a Gracious and merciful father, to the school body for
lending a listening ear and staff for choosing me as a nominee for the position of
head girl for the school year 2022/2023. I am honoured to have been chosen as a
nominee and I assure you that I will keep the sense of honour while operating in the
position when I am chosen.

The Arthur Waldron Seventh Day Adventist Academy produces students who
emerge as confident and intellectual leaders and those on the stage with me today
are all great and qualified nominees to be in the position of either head girl or head
boy. I urge you to make the wise choice.

I have been enrolled as a student at this school for 4 years and have voted for the
past nominees who were chosen for head girl and head boy for 3. When searching
the term head girl, I came upon three qualities that an article recommended that a
head girl should possess, 1 ) Leadership, 2 ) Communication, and 3) Teamwork

When thinking of the word leadership, you may arrive at multiple meanings.
Although, I aim to be the leader that motivates and listens to your queries, I aim to
be the leader who allows not only myself but others around me to flourish. I aim to
be the leader who does not shout Go! But shouts Let’s Go. I aim to be your leader,
whatever meaning you may have, I aim to fulfil and live up to it. By voting for me as
your head girl, I will be the leader that achieves the goals that you would like for
your school.

Communication does not mean talking all the time, in fact, it is easily summarised as
an exchange of information, In the same light, by putting your X by the Blue
Hibiscus; Communication will be guaranteed, and your ideas, opinions, and your
voices will be heard and put into action. The decisions made in any way which
affects the school will affect you, it is about time your voices are heard and your
views are seen. I offer something that many may see as insignificant or
unnecessary, I offer my ear, The ears are organs that provide two main functions
hearing and balance. By putting your X by the blue Hibiscus, I ensure you that you
will have balance and I will listen and understand what you may need. Your voice
matters and putting your X by the Blue Hibiscus, I assure you, You will be heard.

When working as a team, there is one thing that guarantees success, Can you tell
me? In a team, each member collaborates to achieve a common goal. This is what I
am aiming towards, with your collaboration, we can confirm our unison while working
on your ideas, I am not saying this to say that I do not have any ideas because I do,
I look at the students in my class at this moment who are quickly finishing the race of
highscool and I aim to work with the administration of the school for fourth and fifth
formers to have job attachments linking with their future career. I believe this idea
prepares us for the future role we may want to fill and additionally allows us to get
out into the working life as young adults, however, I believe that to be a great leader,
you must converse with your teammates and listen to their views, and hear what
