CAREER READINESS : NAVIGATING AND ADAPTING TO THE FUTURE

Career is a lifelong journey marked by one’s pursuit of employment , education and

professional development . It encompasses the various roles and responsibilities individuals undertake
to earn a livelihood , contribute to society and achieve personal fulfillment. It is based on the interest,
skills, passion, values and aspiration of an individual for choosing its own path of career and as the next
generation of this society , it is very important the career that we may take on as we are the hope of the
future. So, do you have in mind, what career you want to pursue? Are you sure? Is your chosen career
is your true desire?
Last November 12, 2023, the Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Level IV conducted the Career
talk or seminar to answer the questions above. In the purpose to help the graduating students on the
future career they may take on later after graduation. They invited some keynote speakers to share their
experiences , journey and stories on how they got a successful career. Their talks are very inspiring that
touch the heart and open the eyes of the students to make their career as their goal in life.
One of the speakers is the President of Brainhub Review Center , who also a alumni of Iloilo
Doctors’ College , Mr . Alvin Andrade. His story was also a typical lifestory of a student. He came
from a poor family which his mother and father works as a vendor. He said that his father and mother
can’t afford to send him to college but he found a way to enter the college by being a scholar of IDC.
He brought pride to the IDC in bringing the Brainhub Review Center and IDC as its partnered school.
In addition, he told us that he was offered to work abroad which means more opportunity for him, and
he tried to apply in abroad, in fact he was about to passed his requirements and the agency talked him
that he passed the interview but he don’t understand that everytime he tried , the feeling is not correct,
he felt heavy maybe his destiny is to stay here, He chose to be a National reviewer to share his
knowledge to the future nurses. He left us with one advice “ Believe in yourself”.

The seminar we had is a great time to us to think what we really want and to ask ourselves that
what our hearts desired the most. I learned that in making our goals achieved is we and I need to start in
our ownselves by believing we can do it. Like the keynote speaker said to us even nobody will believe
in us , even no one will believe on us as long us we believe in ourselves we can make it. Prove them
that they are wrong. In addition, we must add hard work on what we may do in order to achieve the
dreams that we are all wanted. In summary, believing in ourselves, self- determination , hard work,
passion, and trust in God is the key to successful career. W e must not stop by the hindrances that may
come along our way. Believe that we can do it.
The overall experience is amazing, the speakers give us the inspiration, knowledge, skills and
attitude in making our career successful. In addition, the program flow were very systematic in the way
that the time were used well and maximize as it could be. The organizers are very accomodating in
giving hospitality to the students that attend the seminar. The food was appropriate to the seminar that
filled our stomachs through the entire talk. The entire career talk gave me so much learning and
realization that career is not an easy peasy journey that instantly get but it needs so much effort and
extra hard work plus believing in self in order to make this dreams into reality.
