ISLAM
Profile of Believers • Believers are called Muslim.
• They have faith in the oneness of God
called Allah.
• They pray five times a day called Salah.
• Their bible is Quran which is the word of
God.
• Muslim has Zakat which is considered as
their charity where they gave their wealth
such as money and goods that can range
2.5% - 10%.
• Also they practice the Sawn or fasting
during the month of Ramadan.
• Islam has the morality that emphasizes
honesty, kindness and compassion.
Place and Time of Origin, Founder ➢ Islam was originated in Arabia during 7th
century CE and the founder of this religion
is Muhammad who is the one receiving the
revelations from Allah.
Sacred Texts  Quran- primary sacred text or their bible
 Hadith- collection of sayings , actions and
approval of Muhammad.
Cosmology ➔ Islam believed that Allah created the
(Worldview) universe through his power and wisdom
leading to goodness. Islam views the entire
human race as created from the clay by the
breath of Allah.
➔ Believed the existence of Jannah which is
heaven and Jahannam which is hell.
➔ Believed in angels and celestial beings
which created by the will of Allah.
Theology  Islam’s supreme being is Allah who
(Supreme Being) considered as the creator and ruler of the
universe.
Anthropology ● In Islam, the meaning of life is serving
(Meaning of Life) Allah by worshiping the supreme being.
Soteriology Heavan or Jannah- paradise after death for
(Afterlife) the righteous people.

Symbolism Major Rituals:
(Major Rituals and Places of Worship) • Salah- prayer that is five times a day
facing Kaaba
• Eid al Fitr and Eid al- Adha- two major
festivals during Ramadan.
Places of Worship;
• Mosques- they gather for daily prayers
and religious activities.
• Mecca- where Hajj is done.
Morality ✔ Derived in the teachings in Quran, which
( Code of Conduct) is Tawhid where there is belief in the
oneness of God.
✔ In morality and ethics , emphasizes
honesty, integrity and kindness.
✔ Five pillars of Islam which is the practice
and conduct.
Organization ➔ Caliphate- political and religious
(Leadership and Authority) leadership of Muslim community.
➔ Imam- successor of Muhammad
➔ Sharia (Law)- laws came from Quran and
Hadith.
➔ Sunnah- practices and teachings of
Muhammad.
Religious Experience Creation of Human Nature
 Allah who created everything in the world
and human.
 Dar al Islam- the Quran points to a Day of
Reckoning al-Qiyama when each faithful
will be judged based on their earthly life
and will be led to either heaven or hell.
