The Indoor Soccer: Futsal
The term futsal is derived from the Spanish words futbol which means
soccer and sala which means “parlor” or “salon”, the term was adopted by
the Americans and was more known as five-a-side or mini-soccer, originated
in Montevideo, Uruguay in 1930
Juan Carlos Ceriani Gravier – a PE instructor, he drew the original rules for
futsal
The South American Futsal Confederation was organized in 1965
A futsal ball should be made of leather or other suitable material with a
circumference of 62-64 cm, should weigh about 400-440 grams with a
pressure of 0.4-0.6 atmosphere at sea level

Kicking – has 2 types, inside foot and outside foot, the inside is used to
dribble, pass, and shoot and the outside foot is used to shoot into the goal

Rules
Starts only when each team has 5 players on the court, could be as many
substitutes but not more than 12
The game is split into two 20-minute halves, only 1 time-out is allowed in
each half of the game
To start a game the umpire has to toss a coin and then winner has to make
the kick-off
There is no offside rule unlike soccer
