GROUP WORK.

YOUR VINEYARD
Please read this document carefully before starting

Objective: to present in front of the class, with your group, the vineyard you created during the two weeks. The
information given during the presentation logically and coherently follows the topics learnt through the videos
or during the class.

Presentation length: maximum of 10 min.

Format: any type (PPT, video, poster, website, etc.).

Maximum of 4 students per team. The groups are already assigned, please check on LMS to find out which
group you’re in.

You are not asked to give too many details or to do the presentation as a professional would do. The most
important is to integrate what you learned during the class.

YOUR VINEYARD

You want to invest in a vineyard, and you buy 10 ha of land

You mainly want to focus on premium and ultra-premium wines as the demand is very high for “terroir
wines”. You bought 10 hectares (plus the cellar) but you have to replant all vines (which is not very
common!!!)and you know that you will have to wait 3 years until you sell your first wine.

You would like to produce 4 different wines: if possible two reds and two 2 whites

Two wines are supposed to be released on the market just after April (except if the vineyard is located
in the southern hemisphere). As it is important to have cash flow you need to have a good turnover for
these wines and great yields (even though you’re focusing on quality). For the remaining two, they
could be your top wines. You can age them in oak if you want to and release them on the market later
on.

You can choose the location (country), but you have to justify (you must choose a place where it is
possible to grow vines), explain your choices and give all details, aspects of the terroir you choose.

During the presentation, you have to underline:

To choose your vineyard you can ask yourself the following questions:

- Which type of wines do we want to produce? You must therefore find the best terroir
to produce them (which terroir fits the wines we want to produce?)

- Or in which place would we like to locate our vineyard? And so, you must find out, according to
the terroir, which type of wines can be produced there

When researching the location, try to find out what is done (type of wines) in the region through
severalwebsites. Have a close look at the terroir, varieties, etc.

PRESENTATION

Presentation content
No more than 12 slides plus a summary slide of your different wines at the end. Write your names at the
beginning of the presentation, include all references you used at the end of the presentation

If you want to innovate, you also can use Adobe Spark instead of PowerPoint
https://spark.adobe.com/sp/ or Prezi https://prezi.com/product/

Please respect the rules: do not try to copy an existing vineyard (i.e., just changing the name of the brand
and the name of the wines). Respect the EHL honor code. “… that work submitted in my name is my own
work, and that any ideas or materials used in support of this work which are not originally my ownare
cited and referenced accordingly.”

For each photo you also have to specify the source.

All presentations (or a link if you are using something other than PowerPoint)
must be sent to our email address the day before the presentation (Thursday
before 5 pm)

Oral presentation

No more than 10 min (you could be penalized if you go over 10 minutes). Each member of the group
must speak (same amount of time). Do not include too many details in your PPT.

Depending on the quality of the presentation for each student, the final grade might be different
