ASSIGNMENT ONE

The law of agency is one that is vital to modern business. However, the agent’s action can only have
binding effect on the principal if done according to the authority given by the principal. Discuss the
common law duties owed by the agent to the principal. (10 MARKS)

ASSIGNMENT TWO

Wamundila Kwalela is a driver with Global Logistics Limited a company based in Mongu. On 12 th
January 2023 he was tasked to travel to Lusaka and pick up new office machinery for the company. He
left Mongu on the above mentioned date at around 10:00hours and was expected to be back on the 14 th
January 2023. However, upon arrival in Lusaka he found that the offices for the supplier were closed due
to some strike action taken by the supplier’s employees. This caused a delay and out of sheer boredom
Wamundila decides to visit his long forgotten “love” Chibwe who resides in C6 Kafue Estates. On the
morning of 14th January 2023 he learns that the strike action was over and after a long hug from his
“love” he starts off for Lusaka. However, as he was approaching Shimabala toll plaza, he dozes off, thus
losing control of the vehicle and hit into one of the booths causing serious injuries to Mulenga. Chileshe
an employee of the Roads Development Agency and causing severe damage to the property. You are the
Human Resource Manager at Global Logistics Limited and it has come to management’s attention that
both the government through the Attorney General and Mulenga through her Lawyers want to commence
legal proceedings against Global Logistics Limited. Advice Management on this matter. (15 MARKS)
ASSIGNMENT THREE

One of the attributes of incorporating a company as a means of doing business is that it enjoys the aspect
of perpetual succession. However, it can still come to an end. Discuss winding up as a means of bringing
the existence of a company to an end. (15 MARKS)
