READINESS QUESTIONS:
I Reflect at a personal level on how food and dishes vary from region to region
Bef in their own country. Answer the questions below and be prepared to
ore discuss them in class::

1. What is the traditional food and/or dishes in the place where


you/your family come from?
From Bogotá the traditional dish is ajiaco and from Huila the asado.

2. Do you make or buy the dishes?


Very few times.

3. The bandeja paisa, arepa, sancocho, sudado... because they


are my favorite dishes and what I know how to make or cook.
4. According to foreign visitors (watch a video on 10 must-try foods
Click here), which are the 10 must-try foods in Colombia? Watch the
video and check which ones were mentioned.
Caldo of Costilla, Arepa of Choclo, Envuelto, Pan of yuca, Arepa
boyacense, Changua, Tamal tolimense, Masato, Chocolate with
queso, and Aromatica.

5. Prepare a couple of tentative questions to ask an international


speaker about gastronomy and/or food habits? Make sure it is
something that you would not easily learn from common sources or
on the Internet.
From going from one country to another, do strict diets vary a lot or
do people think about vegetables and the like?
What weird foods have you tried and would you like to cook?
