    YULIMAR ROJAS

    Energetic, dynamic, fighter and constant are the words that could describe the
    Venezuelan athlete Yulimar Rojas, who has a successful career at her young age.

    She was born in Caracas in 1995 and she has always been active in sports.
    She could have started playing volleyball because she has the height to do that, but
    she didn´t because there was no team or club near her place. She also thought to play
    basketball, but similar to the volleyball, she could not find a good teams or coaches.
    So, her father told her to try athletics rather than other sports and she listened to him.

    There was an obstacle, in Venezuela, 75% of the population live in poverty due to the
    major economic crises of the last decades and the Yulimar family´s was one of them.
    Also, the stadium where she started training was not in good condition and Rojas said
    in an interview that she and some of her training partners had to dig the sandpit where
    they could practice jumps.

    However, that didn't put her off! She won her first competition straight away in 2011.

    Many people say that she has won all these years because of her long legs and they
    may be a part of right, but nothing would have happened without the hard work,
    perseverance and mental preparation. All these ingredients make the best combination
    for success.
    Rojas spends hours training to become better and better and thanks to that, today she
    is called the queen of the triple jump. She gets more confidence and more determined
    every year.
    She has several awards as: two-time world champion in indoor track and three-time
    world champion in long indoor track. Also, she has been awarded twice as the Best
    Female Athlete of the Year in 2020 and 2021. Not least, she got a Guinness World
    Records for the longest triple jump in history in women’s category.

    Yulimar Rojas is the best female athlete. She's a huge role model whose every jump is
    an art. Her honest reactions after a fantastic performance make her even more of a
    superstar.
    Always, she says: The more focused you are, the better results you will get.
