GENERIC POST OPERATION / POST EXERCISE REPORT

1. The purpose in of this Report is:

a. To make POR/PXR writing easier and more effective for units and
formations.

b. To make collation of, and comparison between, reports easier and

more effective for the staff in preparation of their own PORs/PXRs at every
level.

c. To make the researching of a portfolio of PXRs/PORs for Lessons

easier and more effective, thereby increasing the likelihood of the wider
learning and implementation of hard won lessons.

d. To prevent the need to produce POR / PXR / Lessons Reports

separately and in different formats for LAND / the Army and for Joint use.

2. The Land POR/PXR / Lessons Process.

a. Army Activities. For Army activities POR / PXR / Lessons Reports

should follow the Chain of Command to LAND G3, with copies as per the
generic distribution.

b. Joint Activities. For Joint activities POR / PXR / Lessons Reports

should be produced to whatever timetable and distribution is laid down by
PJHQ, with copies as per the generic distribution. LAND G3 are the focus for
staffing of issues related to LAND Command, LWC are the focus for training
issues and DGD&D are the focus for wider Army lessons.

3. Formats. The elements of the formats are designed to be used by exception

and as a guide. It is unlikely that all elements would be necessary for all reports. It is
important however to maintain the structure of the reports. The current format is
designed for use as a word document, in either hard or soft copy.

4. Electronic Formats. An electronic copy of the POR/PXR/Lessons Report

format is available on the Electronic Battle Box. The format is also available on the
DGD&D CASH Intranet and Internet websites. Whenever possible reports should be
sent to TDRC in electronic format over CASH/CHOTS.
