Computing Department – Remote Learning

Good morning boys – instructions for every lesson:

1. Log in to Teams. Go to your Computing team.

2. In the chat (General -> Posts) – look out for a thread where I am asking
you to register.
Click “Reply” IN THAT THREAD and say “Present”
Please ONLY post your presence in THIS thread! DO NOT just post
anywhere else to say that you’re here – only in the registration thread
please.

I will check this 10 minutes into the lesson and use this as the class
register.
If you have any questions during the lesson post them in the Teams chat. I will be
monitoring.
In most lessons, you should upload the work completed to your OneNote area. If I
have not created a page for you, please upload with today’s date as the name.

Today’s Lesson

I will be doing today’s lesson in Teams – so, as soon as you have registered,
join the meeting.

We are continuing with the topic “Understanding Computers” – this will take you through
the internal workings of a Computer and help you understand the fundamentals of
Computer Science. During these lessons your teacher will be teaching you in Teams and
there will be activities to do in OneNote too.
Lesson 5 – Storage Devices *
The presentation used and the worksheet will be in your OneNote area. For today this is
Lesson 5 Presentation and Worksheet 5a.
When you do the extension task (Task 2) on Worksheet 5a, do the online quiz and paste a
screenshot of your (20/20 !) score in your OneNote!
* Note: We are not doing lessons 3 or 4 (for now) so that is why we have gone from Lesson
2 Last week to Lesson 5 this week!
