Instructions/Reminders:

Read and analyze the items carefully. Provide a short answer to the following items. (50 points)

1. How does IoT affect the following industry? (6 items x 5 points)

a. Healthcare
Internet of Things affect the healthcare by the technology in reducing its cost in
increasing efficiencies and improving patient outcomes. It also allows healthcare providers to be
more vigilant and proactive in their interactions with patients. Data received from IoT devices
can assist clinicians in determining the appropriate treatment method for patients and achieving
the desired outcomes.

b. Education
In terms of education, it helps to assist in increasing efficiency, allowing educators to
focus on teaching and learning while providing students with a more effective and efficient
learning environment.

c. Finance
In finance, it easily collects and communicates data in order to make better decisions on
investments, insurance amounts, consumer risks, and so on. IoT enhances and supports
customer experiences. Data collected by IoT devices also aids in the detection of fraud and
cyber risks. Security of the big data.

d. Agriculture
In agriculture, IoT has enabled farmers to have a deeper understanding of diverse crops
as well as environmental elements that influence agricultural productivity. Also, some invent a
device that can help to lessen crops predators.

e. Government
In government, IoT may aid in the creation of scaling in government facility management
and the development of new government facilities, and it is a component of smart cities efforts.
Integrating IoT into facilities management has numerous advantages, but it can also provide
obstacles. They also identify whether a person or individual is a taxpayer.
f. Manufacturing
In manufacturing, IoT helps in maintenance to discover anomalies and conduct root
cause analyses to avoid machine failures and production delays. IoT, when combined with big
data analytics, improves the safety of people, equipment, and operations in a manufacturing
plant.

2. What are the pros and cons of IoT to society? (5 points)

Answers:
Pros:
1. Our work becomes easy.
2. Increase productivity.
3. Knowledge
4. Security of Data
Cons:
1. Increased unemployment
2. Too Much Dependency on Technology
3. Lose life control.

3. What can you say about the IoT devices that are available nowadays? (5 points)

Answer:
IOT nowadays is everywhere. They are so efficient in human it helps us to do our work easily,
also in all aspects either in terms of healthcare, education, finance, agriculture, government, and
manufacturing. Even though it helps us, it has a disadvantage. Some people become lazy and depend
on devices made by internet of things.

4. If you are to propose an IoT device, what would that be? Describe its characteristics and features.
(10 points)
Answer:
A walking stick that can help blind people. When he/she bumps into a certain thing, it
will vibrate because of the sensor. This can be detected when the distance is 50cm away
from the things.
