OBJECTIVES

(1) To prepare professional personnel required for primary upper-primary,


Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools.
(2) To prepare professional administrators and administrators for position of
responsibility in educational institutes.
(3) To prepare teachers dedicated and devoted to social services.
(4) To prepare skilled teachers for working with advanced educational technology
& scientific development.
(5) To prepare highly motivated teachers to variety of school subjects.
(6) To inculcate values necessary in the field of education in Indian setting.

Any graduate from any discipline of study from the Bhakta Kavi Narsinh
Maheta University or any other University recognized by the UGC with minimum
50% (percent) of marks as decided by the monitoring body from time to time, shall be
eligible to seek admission for the B.Ed. programme.

O B. Ed.-2
To pass the whole B. Ed. Examination a student should clear all four Semester
examination within a period of Seven years from the date of his/her registration, on
expiry of Seven years he/she shall be required to register himself/herself as a fresh
candidate and keep the attendance and appear and pass in all four semesters a fresh
from First term onward in order to obtain the Degree of Bachelor of Education.
Provided however that a candidate who is not able to pass the whole
examination within the period of Seven years from the date of First registration as
stipulated above may be given renewal of registration on payment of prescribed fees.

Provided further that such a candidate is required to pass all the four Semester
Examinations within four academic years from the date of renewal of registration such
a candidate will not be eligible for exemption in individual papers.
However if the examination is consisting of papers and practical works, the
candidate may be allowed to keep exemption only in theory papers.

A candidate desiring to appear for the B. Ed. Examination shall undergo a
regular course of study in an institution recognized by the authorized monitoring body
and affiliated with the University.

O. B. Ed.-4
The B. Ed. Program is consisting of Semester – I & IV i.e. two academic years
fulltime program consisting of total 21 papers each of 50 marks and a practical annual
lesson of each method selected by the student for 25 marks.

Student is required to complete following Project work withing the time span
of four semesters.
Project – 1 Under this project a student has to select any one popular standardized
psychological test and administer it in a class of minimum 30-40
students and concerned report should be submitted within required time
period.
Project – 2 Under this project a student has to prepare Teaching Learning material
(TLM) which can be used in class room teaching and submit its details
within required time period.
Project – 3 Under this project a student has to undergo an action research on any of
school problems relating to class room teaching or management of the
school and submit its report in proper format within required.

Student is required to submit 10 assignments during the program each taken
from core course one to five within required time period.

O. B. Ed. – 8
Student is required to appear in all pre semester examinations. Further it is
specified that the students will be getting concert weightage of marks as stipulated in
format of the course.

Students is required to attend following field specific activities
Off Campus : Under this aspect students are supposed to perform
academic as well as co-curricular activities in other than a
practicing schools. During off campus period, students can
either stay at the selected place or can go home, but he/she
should be at practices school on prescribed time.
Internship : Under this aspect student are supposed to work at a school
as full time trainee teacher for minimum 14 weeks and to
learn academic as well as administrative work.

Students are supposed to appear and give annual practical lessons one each of
his/her selected teaching methods. He/She is supposed to bring with him/her concern
record of all practice teaching work done by him/her during the program.

Student are supposed to appear and give computer practical exam as specified
in the syllabus.

O. B. Ed. – 12
Students are supposed to appear with all necessary record of practical work
done by him/her during the program at viva-voce exam and submit the same on
demand by the examiner/s appointed by the University.

O. B. Ed. – 13
Medium of instruction & examination shall be English, Hindi or Gujarati as the
case may be which will not be changed during the entire Degree programme.

The Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) Programme of the University is a
comprehensive and continuous evaluation programme and minimum attendance of
75% is mandatory for the students Non – Compliance of this requirement may amount
in to rejection of the concemed term (Semester).

Admission granted by the centralized admission committee / affiliated college /
institution to any student shall be provisional till the enrolment/registration/enlistment
is made by the University & in case the admission is granted on the base of
provisional eligibility certificate, the conditions & instruction given by the University
should be complied within the time limit fixed by the University or latest by the
beginning of next semester. Otherwise term kept by such a student will be forfeited
and no fees on any account will be refunded.

A candidate at the University Semester End Examination fails to obtain
minimum marks for passing in particular course/ subject he/she will be required to
reappear in that course/subject without keeping term for that semester. The candidate
will have to reappear in the Semester End Examination by paying fresh examination
fee along with application form. Such candidate, w hen he/she obtains minimum or
more than minimum marks for passing in the subject / course his/her marks of
reappearance will be carried forward for his/her class/CGPA.

Every affiliated College or Institution shall have to take appropriate measure
against Ragging & Gender problems in College/Institution. The word
College/Institution includes College building, Sports complex, Hostels and such other
components which are within the purview of the Collge.
In case of occurrence of any such incident the violator shall be dealt with very
seriously and appropriate stringent action be taken by the Principal of the College
observing the principle of natural justice. The Head of College may appoint a
Committee to inquire in to the matter which will also observe the principle of natural
justice. The committee will submit its report to the head of college who may take
further necessary action in the matter.

All admitting authority (Including the College/University Department/ P. G.
Centre/Institute or centralized admission committee etc.) will have to strictly observe
the provisions of reservation policy of the Govt./U.G.C./Rehabilitation Council of
India etc. Before admission process is undertaken, the authority will ascertain quota &
number of seats available for reserved class candidates and allotted to the eligible
candidates. The data based information should be provided to the University only after
conclusion of the entire process of admission.

To successfully complete a course, candidate will be required to obtain
minimum 40% in Internal Examinations and 40% in External Examinations and
should have also obtained 40% of marks in aggregate in each of the course and
necessary credits as prescribed in the syllabus.

(1) To pass the B.Ed. first to third Semester Examination, the candidate
must obtain minimum 40% of marks in each course.
(2) To pass the B.Ed. fourth semester examination, a candidate must have
passed B.Ed. first to third Semester examination and he/she must obtain
40% of Marks in each course.

Candidate must forward his application for admission to University
examination to the Registrar on or before the prescribed date with a Certificate of
attendance duly signed by the principal along with the examination fees fixed by the
University.

Thirty percent internal evaluation shall be within the exclusive purview of the
concerned affiliated College with requires purity, transparency accuracy in the
evaluation & assessment of students. Benefits of Re-assessment scheme will not be
made available to the students in this regards.
