 Cast

MC: highschooler, read a lot of comics as a kid, only thinks that quiet and
lonesome heroes are cool, so he doesn’t go out of his way to interact with others.
MC’s best friend: been with him since they were kids, shared this phase with
him throughout middle school, but changed upon entering high school. Now a sociable
person and is trying to get MC to open up more.
MC’s crush: a responsible student, does know that he has a crush on her, and is
in cahoots with MC’s friend to help him get over his phase.
MC’s parents: typical household parents, pick him up from school everyday,
do the stuff around the house because he doesn’t help; are trying to do reach out to him.
MC’s crush’s stalker: he is from the same grade as MC, but more talented in
studying. He was once rejected by Mc’s crush, and now is jealous and mad at MC being
an anti-social talentless guy but still getting her attention. He later confronts them at the
empty school gate trying to assault them.
The janitor: is quite a young guy, early 20s, is seen around school scenes
cleaning up and frequently helping others like giving directions, helping a bumbling
student pick up their dropped things…He later on helps the MC during the climax and
defeat the stalker. He gives MC a talk about coolness and kindness and suggests that he
can be both.
 Plot
Exposition:
1st scene is a flashback showing MC and his friend reading comics and talking
about each other about how they are going to become like those cool silent masters in the
future.
The scene gets interrupted by the constant calling of his name. He wakes up in
the classroom where the teacher (not seen by face) is calling him, and his friend poking at
him from the side to wake him up. The teacher gave him a warning not to sleep in class
and called his friend instead. He answers the question brilliantly and everybody applauses
him. After class, the friend tries to talk to him but MC’s thinking about how he had
changed and wanted MC to change with him; he’s not the same friend anymore. He
decides to go home, the friend tries to pack his stuff up quickly and follow but bumps
into the janitor and drops all his books. The janitor dude helps him pick them up and give
his advice on the situation: if you can’t persuade him alone, why not try asking for
reinforcements?
Rising action:
The next scene shows him walking to the classroom. He is quietly passing
through everyone on the way, like they didn’t even notice him, but that’s what he wants –
he thinks to himself – because a cool guy doesn’t show his face until the big events. But
he had been practicing this “trait” for so long that he hadn’t attended to any of his social
skills, nor any social events. But that is just who he is.
He sits down in the classroom to daydream about heroic deeds until his crush
came up to him. She’s a model student that excels in studying, and she’s with the
organization team behind the school’s events too. But why is such a talented beauty
talking to him. She tries to have a first-time conversation with him, but he is so nervous
that he keeps stuttering. But then he sees his best friend at the door sneakily peeking at
them. He realizes what’s going on and excuses himself.
He bickers with him for a bit then decides to leave. The crush says sorry for
not being able to help much, and he says no worries, we can catch him off guard next
time. They were determined to help the MC, but if he spots them, he will run away. They
were deep in their thoughts when they saw the janitor dude walk by. Seeing the both of
them staring, he worryingly goes “What – Why are you looking at me like that?”
MC goes home and his parents greet him. The mother tried to ask about his
day but he just answered half-heartedly and went to his room. His father came to the door
and talked about his teenage years, how he was essentially alone, and was bullied a bit
too. He said MC doesn’t need to change quickly; every hero has to go up little steps after
all. He then slides under the door the latest issue of MC’s favorite comic that he had
bought for him, then tells him goodnight. His mom also brought him dinner to his door.
The next morning, MC is walking down the hallway, still thinking about his
parents’ words last night, but he is distracted because he feels he is being watched. Then
out from nowhere jumps in his friend and his crush, trying to catch him to have a talk. He
runs away but keeps getting caught by them. He bumps into the janitor who offers him a
hiding place in the tool closet. But when he gets in there his friend and his crush were
already in there, and then the janitor dude comes in and locks the door with his key.
Thinking back to his father’s words, he gives up and decides to have a talk. They were
glad they were able to get to him, so they had a long heartfelt talk, and suggested getting
him to join various activities to get other people to know him and see his cool and
friendly side.
The next few scenes see the MC going around the school helping others and
participating in events. Though he is not very good at any of them, people thanked him
for his efforts, even calling him “cool” in the process. That afternoon he came home to
find his parents leaving a message saying they were going to come home late.
Remembering his mom caring for him, he decided to do the chores around the house. His
parents came home earlier than expected, and were surprised and happy at the sight of
him helping with housework. They had dinner together and he tells them about what
happened at school. They became very proud of him.
Climax:
The next day, as MC was walking down the hallway with his friends, he felt
someone staring at him. The feeling persisted throughout the day. His friend and crush
don’t know much about it when asked. Later, when school time was about to end, a large
rain started. While other students and teachers had umbrellas with them, MC and his
crush did not, so they decided to hang around for a bit, but he still feels like someone is
watching them. The rain let up, and they decided to leave. The school was empty then.
When they walked to the front gate, they confronted a male student who looked very
angry. MC’s crush recognized him as he once asked her out, but she rejected him. MC
can feel that his gaze is the same one that had been following him around school. The
stalker yells at both of them about how MC’s crush rejected him but hangs out with a
pathetic guy like MC. They tried to talk their way out, but he didn’t listen, and pulls out a
knife threatening to kill them. He charges at them, and MC jumps in front of his crush,
bracing for impact. But then the janitor dude appears and quickly subdued the stalker
with his martial arts. He said he was staying behind to clean as always when he saw the
commotion and luckily arrived on time. He warned the MC not to jump in like that again
but said that what he did to protect her was pretty cool. His crush agrees and gives him a
hug of gratitude.
Falling action:
The next day, the school had an urgent assembly to address the events that
transpired yesterday. The stalker was arrested, and his family is being investigated. MC is
then called up and rewarded for his bravery. But he politely refused, and said that he is
not the hero, but the janitor is, and he wanted him to be rewarded instead. The teachers
agreed to reward the janitor, and they say that MC really has a kind heart.
Resolution:
A few weeks has passed, and the students have just finished with their tests
and are looking at the results. MC’s name, with his friends and his crush, are among the
top 3. They congratulated him, and the janitor, now a martial arts instructor, join in and
clap for him. They talked a bit about he had grown, but the instructor cuts the
conversation short by reminding them that their class is up next. The four happily walk
with each other to class, with the MC thinking kindness can really change people, one
just need to believe in themselves.
Conflict:
MC: self vs self: wanting to look cool to others vs wanting to become like
those silent lone wolfs in the comics
