According to Ma’am Petilona, the Department of Education's Child Protection Policy is a

comprehensive framework that outlines guidelines for protecting children from any form of
abuse within the school setting. This policy aims to promote the rights and welfare of children,
including their physical, emotional, and mental well-being. As a matter of fact, every school
must abide by the DepEd's Child Protection Policy because it fosters a secure atmosphere where
kids may study and develop. It is crucial to remember that this policy shields everyone
participating in the school community from abuse and violence, including teachers, parents, and
students. Other than that, what we think is correct may be incorrect for others; let us know the
sides of everyone. Sometimes, we don’t notice that we practice inaccurate discipline, which is
unseen in the school. There are some teachers who raise their voices to those unruly students,
which is a form of discipline, but in the Child Protection Policy there is a limitation to it. As a
future educator, seek to understand that our school environment has its own perspective. Also,
Ma’am Petilona mentioned advice on how to handle the unruly students in a school setting: find
other ways to get their attention, find other strategies by choosing your words, control yourself,
and be an advocate for the students. Your delivery affects the learners.
