2 Nursing Theories related to Maternal and Child Nursing

1. Casey's Model of Nursing

The Casey's Model of Nursing places a strong emphasis on the nurse's collaboration
with the child's family and other caregivers. One of the first attempts at creating a
nursing model that was especially suited for child health nursing was made in this
instance. The nurse, the child, the family, the environment, and the nurse are the five
components of this nursing theory. The Casey model's guiding principle is that, with
the help of medical professionals, family members make the best caregivers for
children. This calls for communication between the nurse and parents.

2. Florence Nightangale’s Environment Theory

In the history of nursing, the environmental theory marks a turning point. The
nursing staff must uphold Florence Nightingale's concerns about the environment
impacting the health/disease process and fostering an adequate environment for the
care of the kid and his family despite changes such as the development of critical
care units and the family's permanence in these units.
