1 Create an eye-catching icon for your game. Your game icon is the first thing that
potential players will see, so make sure that it is colorful, interesting, and well-
framed.[1] Choose an image that expresses the vibe of your game and gives players a taste
of what they can do in the game.[2]
For example, if your game is a lifeguard simulator, then you might have a Robloxian
in a red swimsuit running along a beach. If your game is a relaxing room where
players can drink coffee and eat donuts, then create an icon with a donut and a cup
of coffee beside it.
Keep in mind that your icon cannot exceed 512 by 512 megapixels and it will be
scaled down to 150 by 150 megapixels after you upload it.[3]

2 Add images or a YouTube video to show off features of the game. Potential
players may want to see examples of gameplay in images or video form before they
click the “Play” button. Entice players with screenshots of gameplay or a video showing
some of the best features of your game.[4]
For example, if your game is about riding horses through the desert, then you might
include images or a video of a player customizing their horse and then riding it on a
rugged path.

3 Include lots of available badges and achievements for the game. Hardcore
gamers want to earn lots of badges and trophies, so make sure you have lots of them
available. Don’t make them too easy to obtain though. Make sure that players will have to
work really hard for some of them.[5]
It’s okay to have a few badges or trophies that are almost impossible to obtain. This
will be something for your players to work towards.
For example, if your game operates on a points system and it’s difficult to get more
than 1 million points, you could create a badge or trophy for players who
accomplish this. Or, if there’s a rare item in your game, you could create a badge or
trophy for anyone who finds it.

4 Sell VIP shirts and passes to give players special powers. A VIP shirt is a
developer-made feature that gives players special abilities or items whenever they
wear it, but only while they’re playing your game. It won’t have any effect in other games. A
game pass does the same thing, but the player doesn’t have to make sure their avatar is
wearing the item to enjoy its benefits.[6]
For example, you might give players who wear a VIP shirt or use a game pass an
extra $1,000 in in-game currency each day. Or, you might increase a player’s stats
while they’re wearing their VIP shirt or using a pass.

5 Provide updates on improvements to the game in developer forums. Although

there is no longer an official Roblox players’ forum, you can participate in developers’
forums to promote your game. Avoid simple requests for other people to play your game.
Instead, post something specific about a new update you’ve made to the game.[7]
For example, instead of simply saying, “Please check out my game!” try saying, “I
have been working hard on my campfire cooking simulator and I have added
several new recipes. Check it out and let me know what you think!”

6 Consider advertising your game to increase traffic. You can advertise your game
to players in Roblox by creating an ad. You can use in-game currency, called Robux,
to make an ad and it will pop up randomly on the site, or create an ad that will appear
outside of Roblox as well. Keep in mind that you’ll have to spend Roblox currency to do
this.[8]

2 Making Friends in Roblox

1 Chat with people you encounter in the game. When you meet someone in the
game, say “hello” to them and engage in some small talk. Ask their name, how they’re
doing, and what their interests are. Avoid getting too personal though! Don’t ask them about
their physical appearance or discuss inflammatory topics, such as religion or politics.[9]
For example, if you’re playing a game with someone, you might greet them by
simply saying, “Hi!”
If they respond, you can continue the conversation with them by asking how they’re
doing or asking about their interests.
If someone doesn’t respond to you or doesn’t ask you any questions in response,
they might not be interested in chatting. Talk with someone else instead.

2 Add friends in Roblox to grow your social circle. If you enjoy playing or talking
with someone on Roblox, you can add them to your friends. This way you’ll be able to
see when they’re online and you can talk with them and play with them again in the future.
To add someone as a friend in Roblox, go to their profile page and click the “Add Friend”
button. This will send a request to the person that they can accept or decline.[10]

3 Look for a group of people who share your interests and join it. Groups on
Roblox are a great way to meet like-minded individuals. If you’re part of a group, you’ll
have a community of people to chat and play games with. To find a group, click the search
bar at the top of the page in Roblox and enter your search terms. Then, click the group
you’re interested in and click “Join Group” if you want to join it.[11]
For example, if you want to find a group of other dinosaur lovers, then you might
type in “dinosaurs” in the search bar.

If you’re uncomfortable and cannot play the game due to bullies, maybe it’s a good idea to
take a small break from Roblox. If you don't want to do that, just ignore the bullies and keep
trying to make friends. There are plenty of nice people who play the game.
