PRESS RELEASE FROM DELEGATE TODD A.

KIRBY
November 15, 2023
Beckley, West Virginia

I will no longer be seeking re-election to the West Virginia House of Delegates, and I am formally
announcing my candidacy for the Circuit Court Judge position made available by the upcoming
retirement of the Honorable Robert A. Burnside, Jr.
Being elected to represent the voters of my district and the people of West Virginia in the House
has been one of the greatest honors of my life and I look forward to finishing out my full term as
a delegate. This is not an easy decision, and it was only made after a great deal of prayer and
careful consideration as to how I can best serve the great people of Raleigh County and the
community I love. I am excited to bring my experience as a private attorney, guardian ad litem
and assistant prosecutor to the courtroom so that I can continue serving the citizens of the county.
If elected, I will always follow the U.S. and West Virginia Constitutions and faithfully apply the
laws of this state to each case. I will treat everyone who appears before me with dignity, respect,
and fairness.

I want to thank Judge Robert A. Burnside, Jr. for the decades of hard work and dedication he has
given to the people of Raleigh County and the great example he and others have left for whomever
is fortunate enough to occupy his seat following his retirement. I also want to thank my
community, my family, and my friends who have supported me and continue to support me. As
always, God bless you and God bless the Mountain State.
