in planning and reporting in multiple currencies
▪ Currency handling has been completely refactored
with the new model
− Currency modeling primarily resides within the
model itself, with different measures used to
represent different currencies
− Persistence of currency results is now supported
− Model-based calculated currency results are also
supported

Modeler app
▪ Enable currency conversion in the model
preferences
▪ Configure currency measures

▪ Currency measures are modeled as either


base measures or conversion measures
▪ To use currency conversion we require at least
one base measure to be of currency type
▪ The currency definition for any given measure
can be can be fixed (i.e. specific currency) or
dynamic (i.e. derived contextually from a
specific dimension property)
▪ Other currency conversion related properties
are available per measure, but are dependent
on the specific measure type

Persisted currency values

▪ Base measures can persist different currency


values as defined by the currency definition
parameters within the measure
▪ Persisted currency results can be entered by
the user or loaded from an external source
▪ Base measure currency results can also be
calculated and stored using Data Actions

▪ Conversion measures are a special type of measure


which can be reused across stories, and which
calculate currency results on-the-fly
▪ Each conversion measures must reference a base
currency measure
▪ Specific rate conversion details are set within the
conversion measure
▪ Direct data entry is possible against either the base
measure or conversion measure
▪ Calculate measures can also reference base
currency measures or conversion measures
