Concept
The Client Is The Owner Of Mixed Use Design That Accommodates
Various Programs That Are Zoned In Work, Service & Recreational
Spaces.
The Design Is Aimed At Transforming The Single Functioning Space
To Various And Multifunctional Space. Avoid Exhaustion With Play
Full Spaces.
Programed Spaces Strategically Provide Integrated Spaces (- Service
Recreational) Some Unique Characters of The Site Are

Mixed Use Development With 10 Stories and 2 Basement Floors.


The Ground Floors Have Communal Space With Sitting Area With
Greenery That Gives A Centralized Effect Of The Atrium.
To Maximize Visual Connection There Is An Open Down To The
Communal Space That Helps The Society To Get Connected And
Gather Together. High Density Of Circulations Is In The Ground
Floor.
The Café And Restaurant Are On The 1st Floor To Maximize The
Good View And The Game Zones Are Adjacently Accessed. A Fresh
Corner With Snack And Popcorn Gives A Recreational Sense Of The
Building.
Based On the Zoning the Recreational Plus Services Programs Ends

Offices Ends At 7th Floor The Central Tower Is Accessed For the

 Site History=Proposed To Redesign The Oldest And The Most Historical Cinema In
Ethiopia Which Is Known As Rastheater.
 Neighborhood Context-The Existing Buildings Are Mostly Commercial

-High Traffic System Since Merkato Is A Commercial Center In Addis Ababa
-The Building Is Adjacent To A Main Road,3m Setback

-As Architectural Feature ,There Are Historical Buildings Called Ye-Harar Hintsa Which
Are Constructed In The Reign Of Italy Colony
-There Are 3 To 4 Square That Are Accessed Due To High Traffic Movement

BULDING MATERIAL
THE SIGNIFICANT FEATURE OF THE DESIGN IS THE FACAD TREATED IN ACCORDANCE
WITH THE VEIW AND ALSO THE CONCREAT FRAME PLUS THE DOUBLE GLAZING
PROVIDE A THERMAL CONFORT FOR THE BULDING.

THE OTHER ONE IS THE HELICAP.A SPACE PROVIDED IN ORDER TO LET A HELICOPTER
SIT AND CAN GIVE SERVIES DUE TO A CRAWDED TRAFFIC SYSTEM OF MERCATO.
