Abstract
Our project Hospital Management system includes registration of patients, storing their details into
the system, and also booking their appointments with doctors. Our software has the facility to give a unique
id for every patient and stores the details of every patient and the staff automatically.
User can search availability of a doctor and the details of a patient using the id. The Hospital Management
System can be entered using a username and password. It is accessible either by an administrator or
receptionist. Only they can add data into the database.
The interface is very user-friendly. The data are well protected for personal use and makes the data
processing very fast. It is having mainly two modules. One is at Administration Level and other one is of
user I.e. of patients and doctors. The Application maintains authentication in order to access the application.
Administrator task includes managing doctors information, patient’s information. To achieve this aim a
database was designed one for the patient and other for the doctors which the admin can access. The
complaints which are given by user will be referred by authorities

Introduction
1.1 Background
The Hospital Management System (HMS) utilizing Android Studio and Firebase is a
cutting-edge solution designed to revolutionize the management and operation of healthcare
facilities. This mobile application brings together the power of Android Studio for versatile
and user-friendly app development and Firebase for seamless, real-time cloud-based backend
services.
The HMS follows a client-server architecture where the Android application serves as
the client, providing a user-friendly interface for patients and healthcare providers, while
Firebase handles the backend, ensuring real-time data synchronization and scalability.
In subsequent sections of this project report, we will delve into the system's
architecture, features, modules, and the technical aspects of its development and deployment.
This Hospital Management System aims to contribute significantly to the efficiency,
transparency, and effectiveness of healthcare services, ultimately improving patient
outcomes and experiences.
1.2 Objectives:
Page 10
1.1.1 Purpose
This software will help the company to be more efficient in registration of their
patients and manage appointments, records of patients. It enables doctors and admin to view
and modify appointments schedules if required. The purpose of this project is to computerize
all details regarding patient details and hospital details.
1.2 SCOPE
The system will be used as the application that serves hospitals, clinic, dispensaries or
other health institutions. The intention of the system is to increase the number of patients that
can be treated and managed properly. If the hospital management system is file based,
management of the hospital has to put much effort on securing the files. They can be easily
damaged by fire, insects and natural disasters. Also could be misplaced by losing data and
information.

System Analysis
2.1 INTRODUCTION:
The most common set of requirements defined by any operating system or softwareap
plication is the physical computer resources, also known as hardware.
A hardwarerequirements list is often accompanied by a hardware compatibility list (HCL),
especially incase of operating systems. An HCL lists tested, compatibility and sometimes
incompatiblehardware devices for a particular operating system or application. The
following sub-sectionsdiscuss the various aspects of hardware requirements.
« RAM : 8 GB
« HARD DISK : 80 GB

2.3 SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:
Software Requirements deal with defining software resource requirements and pre-
requisitesthat need to be installed on a computer to provide optimal functioning of an
application. These requirements or pre-requisites are generally not included in the software
installation package and need to be installed separately before the software is installed.
