What we have learned thus far.


 Installing a new operating systems onto a machine and ensuring we use the same
Administrative details known only by the department in order to manage over the
hospitals systems
1. Admin- Kaladmin

3. Admin2 – built in admin account that is disabled and has to be
enabled for central office use [Administrator]
4. Password2 – Passw0rd
 Installing necessary software on different machines that varies from department to
department

4. Citrix [contains Sap, Persal, etc]- Clerks, Hr, Finance

 Registering the computer on the Gauteng domain

 Active directory is a storage of users in the hospital and their passwords (we use it to
reset or change passwords of clients that have a government email address and use
their persal to log in on a computer.

 Logging in the client on their own personal account given in the active directory
unless its computers in wards or used by data capturers (for those we create a local
account with a password that never expires” Password1”)

 Changing Dns servers in all systems in the hospital for internet access due to a
network problem experienced

 Installing printer drivers and registering clients onto printer machines for password
encrypted printed on different shared machines
1. Printer driver for non colour printers: Konica Minolta 650series
2. Printer driver for colour printers : Konica Minolta C353series
3. Access the printer on a web connection using its ip address and log in as the
administrator [Password: 1234567812345678]---go to user authentication
track—go to user registration –if it’s a first time user register the user—if the
client is already there click on them and click edit
4. Copy the username and password to verify under printers and scanners
5. Ensure that under printer preferences everything is as the picture
6. under preferences on the basic tab click on authentication/track account and
verify the username and password…ensure their similar to the ones on the
web(Case sensitive)
 Troubleshooting network ports and patching them in their switch cabinets located
around the hospital according to Ethernet cabling if they’re not responsive
1. Check the port number: -first 2 are the cabinet number
-Followed by a letter representing the switch
shelf in the cabinet
-then the port number on the switch
 Configuring SAP HIS on the pc : only pcs in finance or admin
- right click on the home screen and click on
add new connection and configure it as the
picture below
