"I don't have time."

Even when you know that you consistently drag yourself out of bed every
morning, you still can't keep yourself from scrolling social media late into the
night. 'What did I get done today?‘ is a recurring theme. With all your current
responsibilities, it seems impossible to make time for something you’re
passionate about or to build something that could be your newer, brighter
future. When would it happen? How will the people around you adjust so you
can make the time? You start to think about what you would do if you had
time and you can’t actually think of anything, so you just assume it’s worthless
and keep reporting to your daily duties. Always running late and completely
lost. Sound familiar?

"I don't know where to start."

What would you do if you had the time? How would you even know where to
begin if you happened to know what you wanted? If it were easy, everyone
would do it, so it’s likely not going to be something you can figure out, so why
try? Why bother making life even more complicated when it’s so unfulfilling
as it is? These are easy questions to ask and leave open-ended. However, they
are quickly solved with a few missing key ingredients. But since they're not
jumping out at you, you move on satisfied with being unaware. Sound

"I don't know the right people."

When you look around, you don’t exactly see a cheerleading squad. Who’s
going to bother to help me? Who would even want to? It seems like all the
right people know each other and if they wanted to help you, they would
already have offered you a hand. Too bad you don’t have any real connections

can be successful, it’s not looking too much like a team on your side of the

"I'm afraid to try."
You may not love everything you’ve got going on, but what could be worse is
for everything you know to disappear. What if your loved ones don’t approve
and decide to distance themselves from you? What if you lose your current
job? Even if you hate your current job, losing it is bad, right? What if you look
stupid? What if you have no idea what you’re doing and fall flat on your face
when you try? You worry about all the ‘ifs’ and they sound legitimately scary,
so why not let them remain ‘ifs’ so we never have to find out? Sound familiar?

"I'm tired."
Similar to how you feel out of time, you feel out of energy. You can’t
remember the last time you got a full night’s rest, much less a successful trip to
the gym. How can someone be so optimistic and ambitious if they can’t focus?
They definitely can’t. So to have a solution for one, you need a solution for the
other and that doesn’t exist right now either. No one’s showing you how you
can make that work in your current lifestyle, so it’s just not possible to help
you create the life you want. Just thinking about it gets me... Zzzzzzzzzzz.

Oh, bank account. Dear bank account. How you loathe her. You can log in to
her easily from a phone or computer to get an instant pain of disappointment
anytime you want. It’s a reminder of all the limits you know to be true about
yourself and your life. Your available balance feels aligned with the rest of

 How often have you said these statements out loud? Some of them are socially
acceptable and misery loves company. So, maybe you’ve even heard people
around you say them back. Saying that they feel similar to you in their
limitations in life. Some of these statements you keep to yourself because
they’re far too embarrassing to say out loud. Maybe you want everyone to think
you’re extremely financially stable, but have no problem telling them you have
a tremendous anxiety. The perceptions of people fuel us and put fear in us in
mysterious ways.

THE ONLY THING MISSING

It’s very simple. You're just unsure about how to go after the life you want.
Whether you’re okay with admitting it or you’re too embarrassed to put it that
way. You worry about what people will think if you don’t have your life
together yet. Worse, if you think you don’t have your life together yet. So you
keep plugging away at your current situation because you want it to seem like
it was all your intention in the first place.

‘I don’t need much,’ you want people to think you think. ‘I don’t need attention
or anything flashy,’ you try to convince yourself. Even though you feel pulled
