8. PLUMMER BLOCK
9. TAILSTOCK:
8. What are the default units of limit (length, Mass and time) ?
Answer: mm, kg, second.
2. Pro/ENGINEER
NGINEER or CREO
CREO:-
1. What are the file extensions given to sketches, parts, assemblies, and drawings?
Answer: Sketches - .sec, Parts-- .prt, Assemblies- .asm, Drawings- .drw
5. What is the difference between file -> erase and file -> delete?
Answer: File erase removes the object from the ram of the computer and file delete removes the
object from the disk or hard drive of the computer.
6. What is the difference between file -> save and file -> backup?
Answer: File save stores the object in the director
directory
y where it was opened from and file backup
copies the object to the specified directory using the same name.
8. What is the difference between one side and both sides in extrusion?
Answer: One-side
side extrudes only one specified direction from the sketching plane. Both sides
extrude both sides of the sketching planes.
14. Name a feature that can both add and remove material?
Answer: Rounds and chamfers are the features which can both add or remove the material.
22. Can the units of a part be changed without changing the size of the part?
Answer: Yes.
3. SOLID WORKS:
WORKS:-
1. What is solid works?
Answer: Solid Works is a computer aided design tool used for the design, simulation of
mechanical products that runs on Microsoft Windows. Its application in complete
product development cycle starting from concept design to Detailed design, Structural &
thermal analysis, motion studies & engineering drawings and Also CAM.
8. What do you understand by equations in solid works part and assembly module?
Answer: Equations are added in solid works to add a relationship in any two dimensions using
global variables and mathematical functions.
18. How we can copy complete assembly to one folder along with drawings, all
reference parts, and colors?
Answer: Pack & Go tool is used in solid works to co copy
py complete assembly with all associated
parts, drawings and references
Open part/assembly ->
> Go to file -> Click pack & Go -> > select the files to be copied in pack &
go folder ->
> Add prefix or suffix -> select folder -> save.
23. True or false — you can hide assembly components or drawing views.
Answer: True.
24. What visual aid helps you identify model orientation in a drawing?
Answer: 3d pointer.
4. UNIGRAPHICS (NX)
1. What do you mean by Gateway Application in UG (NX)?
Answer: Uni-graphics
graphics functions are divided into applications of common capabilities, such as
Modeling, NX Sheet Metal, Shape Studio, Drafting, Manufacturing, Assemblies etc.
Answer: Direct modeling techniques represents extended capabilities for some of the more basic
Unigraphics functions. Among these are face oriented operations, constraint based methods,
blend regeneration and independence of feature history. You can use Direct mo modeling
functions on models that have been imported from other CAD systems and are non non-
parametric.
Answer: The Weight management option allow us to calculate and control the weight and other
mass properties of parts, components and assemblies based on the solid bodies they contain.
21. What is the difference between Rotational WCS & Dynamic WCS?
Answer: In Rotational WCS we can give the angle by which the WCS need to rotate by typing it
in the space provided, while in Dynamic WCS we can dynamically rotate the WCS and
give the angle.
22. How many types of geometrical constrains are there in Unigraphics NX?
Answer: There are 22 types of Geometrical constrains in Unigraphics NX.
23. In which command do you find strings, apex string, and spline string?
Answer: We find these options in section command of free form feature.
