Insidious

Introduction
Insidious is a 2011 American supernatural horror film. It was directed by James
Wan, and was written by Leigh Whannell, and starring Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne
and Barbara Hershey. It is the first (Chronologically, the second) installment in the
Insidious film series. The story centers on a couple whose son inexplicably enters
a comatose state and becomes a vessel for ghosts in an astral dimension who
want to inhabit his body, in order to once again live. The film was released in
theaters on April 1, 2011, and was FilmDistrict's first theatrical release. A sequel,
Insidious: Chapter 2, was released on September 13, 2013, with Wan returning as
director and Whannell returning as screenwriter. Due to the film's success, it
became the basis for a maze for 2013's annual Halloween Horror Nights. A
prequel in the series, Insidious: Chapter 3 was released on June 5, 2015.
James Wan
James Wan born 27th February, 1977. Is a Malaysian

film director, screenwriter and producer.

He is known for directing the horror film Saw

and creating Billy the Puppet. Wan has also directed

Dead Silence, Death Sentence, Insidious, The Conjuring,

Insidious: Chapter 2, Fast & Furious 7 and the upcoming

horror sequel The Conjuring 2.


Leigh Whannell
Leigh Whannell was born the 17th January, 1977. Is an Australian screenwriter,
producer, director and actor. He is best known for writing films directed by his
friend James Wan. He made his directorial debut on Insidious: Chapter 3, which
was released in 2015.

Whannell and Wan are the creators of the Saw franchise. Whannel wrote the first
installment, co-wrote the second and third installments, was producer or executive
producer for all the films, and appeared as the "Adam Stanheight" character in
four of the installments. He was also the writer of the Saw video game.

Insidious: Chapter 1

Josh and Reani suffer paranormal cases after the fall of one of their children.
Since the accident of his son, they heard strange noises in the house and there
are some appearances. With the help of a seer, it is found that the child is not in a
coma, but was born with the ability to travel to the astral world.
Insidious: Chapter 2
In this sequel, the directors go deeper in the story and you can understand better
some events of the old film.
Insidious: Chapter 3
It exist a third part of Insidious, but it has no relation with the other two.

In this one, a girl see a man saluting her in the distance a few times. This `man´
results out to be the demon of Parker Craine, and it takes over the body of Quinn,
the protagonist.
Curiosities
Some scenes were recorded in Linda Vista Community Hospital, a creepy
abandoned hospital in Los Angeles, California.

After its closure, the hospital became a popular filming location for horror-themed
productions, including films, TV shows, and music videos. It has also become the
subject of several paranormal investigations.
