An issue has been discovered related to quality codes in A120/A220 printers, it has been found
that with the date changeover from the 31st May 2012 to 1st June 2012 the machines no longer
accept the quality codes with all ink types except for 191BK, 261YL and 291BK

At this point in time there is a work around if you change the clock of A120/A220 printer and
backdated to 1st April 2012 (for example), the quality code can then be accepted by the
printer. But if the date is 1-Jun-2012, the quality codes are rejected by the printer.

’ERROR Ink Quality Code expired’ is logged in event log.

How to Change the Date in a GP Printer. (01/04/12 used as an example but any date pre 1st
June 2012 will suffice)

After changing the clock to an earlier date re-enter the Quality code – this will now be
accepted. Now change the clock back to today’s date before commencing printing

Note – The next release of software will fix this issue; this will entail upgrading any
installed machine to the latest software when available.
