7.3 INT. ASHU'S COLONY HOME - DAY 7.3 *

Max searches Ashu's house to see if there are any clues *
connecting him to the police or anything questionable. He *
rummages through his cupboard, clothes and other stuff but *
can't find anything in the barely furnished 1RK. Just then, *
his phone rings. It’s Nisha. *
MAX *
(on phone) *
Haan Nisha! *
NISHA (O.S.) *
(on phone) *
Kahan ho tum? Bhool gaye kya? *
MAX *
Kya? *
NISHA (O.S.) *
(on phone) *
Arre School Annual Day! Ira ka *
performance hai aaj. *
MAX *
(on phone, confused) *
Arre nahi bhula! Aa raha hoon, on *
the way. *
Max hangs up and rushes out. *

7.6 INT. IRA’S SCHOOL HALL - DAY 7.6 *

An applause sends a batch of kids, who have just finished
performing, off the stage, as Max enters a school hall packed *
with parents. *
Max looks for Nisha in the audience as the teacher playing MC *
introduces the next act. *
Finally, Max finds her and joins her. *
He smiles at her but she is cold. *
MAX *
Ira ka ho gaya? *
Nisha just shushes him and says No with a nod. *
Kids on stage are performing a play about unity.

They aimlessly watch the kids’ act without speaking. *

Suddenly, Max’s phone buzzes. It’s Santosh Mama calling. *
MAX (CONT'D) *
(mutters) *
Baby, mujhe yeh call lena padega. *
Nisha shows him she doesn’t care. Max walks out in a huff. *

Max protests over the call as Santosh Mama questions Max’s preparation *

A round of applause welcomes the next batch of kids on stage.

Ira is one of them.

Nisha looks at the door for Max, but he is not to be seen.

Nisha stops thinking about Max and focuses on her daughter.

Max is still on the call.

Max rushes back in the hall to find the MC teacher *
introducing the next performance. *
Max quickly gets in his seat. *
NISHA *
(whispers) *
Tumne Ira ka performance miss kar *
diya. *
MAX *
(irritated) *
What? Tumne call kyun nahin...? *
She looks at Max in disbelief. *
NISHA *
Really?! *
Rest of the argument takes place with a performance going on. *
Max keeps looking at her while Nisha focusses on stage. *
MAX *
(whispers) *
Tumko lag-ta, main Ira ka show miss *
karna chahta tha? Mama ka call tha. *
Kya karta main? *
Nisha just shrugs. *
NISHA *
I have no idea ki tum actually kya *
chahte ho? *
MAX *
(doesn’t understand) *
Kya? *
NISHA *
Haan. Mujhe kuch bhi nahin maloom. *
Tum kya dikhaate ho, kya chhipaate *
ho, kitna sach bolte ho, kitna *
jhooth bolte ho. *

Max is taken aback. Trying hard not to disturb people around, *

they argue, *

MAX *
(deffensive) *
Kya jhooth bola maine? *

Now other people sitting near them start looking at them. *

MAX (CONT'D) *
Bolo, kya jhooth bola?

NISHA *
Tum Civil Engineer ho? *

Max is caught off guard. *

MAX *
(unknowingly raises voice) *
Kisne badd-badd kiya tumhaare ko? *
Bolo kisne bataya? *

People from the rows in front turn around to look at them. *

NISHA *
(whispers) *
Awaaz neeche karo. Talk about it *
later.

MAX *
(raised his voice) *
Bata na kaun bola? *

Nisha is taken aback. *

NISHA *
Stop it Max.

But Max is too upset. *

Max gets up and walks away angrily, leaving Nisha *

embarrassed, with some parents looking at her. *

3.7 EXT. JUDO CLASS - DAY 3.7 *

A car pulls up and Ira and Priya (Shardul’s daughter) get *
off. RAKHI, Shardul’s ex-wife and Priya’s mom is behind the *
steering wheel. *
RAKHI *
Ira ki Mom tum log ko pick up *
karegi, okay? *
Ira and Priya nod. Rakhi gives a kiss to Priya and waves a *
goodbye. *
RAKHI (CONT'D) *
Have fun. *
Ira and Priya nods and giggle as Rakhi drives away. As they *
rush inside, *
PRIYA *
Chal jaldi! *
IRA *
You hate Judo! Aaj itna interest
kyun?

PRIYA *
(visibly excited) *
I hate Judo. But new Judo Sir? I *
love him.

IRA *
Kya? Kaun? *
Priya just giggles in excitement. Ira is intrigued. *

3.8 INT. JUDO CLASS - DAY 3.8 *

All the kids are lined up in Judo GI uniform. Their Judo *
Teacher stands in front of them along with Shardul who is *
also dressed in Judo-Gi. *
Now Ira understands why Priya was excited. *
 Blue Rev. (mm/dd/yy) 8.

Shardul throws a look at his daughter Priya who can’t contain *

her excitement and has a big wide smile on her face. *

JUDO TEACHER *
Aaj se Priya ke Daddy, Shardul sir, *
aapko Self-Defense seekhanewale *
hain. He is a black belt and was a *
District Champion under 12... *

SHARDUL *
(cutting in) *
Under 16. *

JUDO TEACHER *
Under 16. So you guys can learn a *
lot from him. Over to you Sensei! *
Rei! *

Everyone bows. Then Shardul steps ahead. *

SHARDUL *
(sounding serious) *
Hello bachchon! Mereko maloom hai *
tum dikhte cute ho, par ho bohot *
dangerous! Right? *

Kids giggle and in unison shout “Yes!”. *

Shardul winks at Priya who winks back. *

SHARDUL (CONT'D) *
JUDO ka matlab hai - Gentle Way. *
Yaani saamnnewale ko haraana hai, *
bina lagaaye. Aur yeh kaise karne *
ka? - uss ka power usi ke against *
use karke. Shuru karein? *

INTERCUT *

3.9 INT. JUDO CLASS - DAY 3.9 *

Shardul is showing the moves. Punch! Kick! Block!! The kids *

are following him. Priya is happy. So is Shardul. *

3.10 INT. JUDO CLASS - DAY 3.10 *

The class is finished. Shardul helps Priya take off the Judo- *
GI uniform, fold it and put it back in her bag. *

SHARDUL *
Mazaa aaya na. Jitna seekhegi, aur *
mazaa aayega.

PRIYA *
(elated) *
I love Judo!

Just then, Ira comes there. *

IRA *
Meri mom aa gayee lene. *

PRIYA *

SHARDUL *
Remember! Yeh humaara secret hai... *

PRIYA *
(like a judo student) *
Hai!

Shardul also has a hearty laugh. Then he and Priya do their *

unique handshake routine. *

Ira is happy for them. *

She walks up to Shenoy who is busy in work. *

Shenoy turns around is surprised to find a cop standing with *

his assistant. *

SHENOY’S ASSISTANT (CONT'D) *

Yeh Goa Police se hai. *

PEDNEKAR *
(introduces himself) *
Pednekar!... Ek urgent matter hai. *
South Goa mein ek bada riverside *
land hai, uska case hai. Hamein *
kuch soil samples test karne hai. *
But results ASAP chahiye. *

SHENOY *
Sure sir! I will try my best. *

PEDNEKAR *
Thank you Shenoy! *

Pednekar hands over the soil samples to Shenoy. *
