should go one by one.
R1- Our husbands are going outside for labour works . By loans, by doing work whatever we can do for food

M1-That means you are saying that some of women are going outside for work?
M1-That means women are doing everything anything for food. If that getting labour, they work here
otherwise she is going outside for the work?
M1-There are many types of people which were living in your village so what is the caste and type of caste in
your village?
M1-What are the other type of castes which you are saying in your village?
M1-You are saying that the caste they come under is the Bhil community?

M1-Oh, so only the Bhil tribe people reside here, are there no other castes?
R1- No , No.
R1- Yes.
M1-I want to know that anyone is not belong from other caste like Rajput, Brahmin like this.
M1-Everyone belongs from Bhil community. I am asking that there are even poor people in your Bhil

working in the village someone is doing farming someone is doing labouring like this.
R1-Hmm.
M1-Are men main living the same Lifestyle like women live in your village? And how do men leave the lifestyle
here in your village? Please everybody answers from number one to number five sister.
R1- Men are working very hard from day tonight and they go outside if they cannot do work who will do the
work. And I am saying that there are some drunk men they are some good men there some Labour man in
our village
M1- So you are saying that someone I dunked some are going for labour some people are good. And you are
saying that the drunk man moves here and there throughout the village in whole day
R1 To R7-Hmm.
M1-Now I want to know what the good man in your village do?
R1- Farming.
Now I want to know what work has been done by them alcohol man?
R1 R2, R3 R4 R5 R6 R7-In distant Benter.
M1-What work has been done by the alcohol man daily? And I want to know that is there more people or less
people in this category?
R1-There are less people in this category because more people are doing work labour such type of things.
M1-That means you are saying that more people are doing work doing labour but they are some or few
people who are breaking alcohol and beating their women.
R1-Hmm.
M1-Right.
R1-Hmm.
M1-Is there men’s who doing their government job?
R1- He was doing farming instead of doing government job that means there no one is doing government
jobs.
M1- That means you are saying that no one is doing government jobs in your village. And you are saying that
people do farming. And does they work beside farming?
R1- The do nothing besides farming. They were doing labouring they were doing other works. Someone open
their shop someone go to tea stall like this.
M1-That means you are saying the do nothing besides farming. They were doing labouring they were doing
other works. Someone opens their shop someone go to tea stall like this.
R1 R2, R3 R4 R5 R6 R7-In distant Benter.
M1-Now I want to ask about last two three years in your Village what we’re happening.,? And did you feel any
changes during the course of period two three years? Does women lifestyle have changed in two three years?
If this is happened how?
M1-There is only one show in your village women face no problems in the daily works. It means that you have
a lot of work that why you face such many problems
R1- Yes.
R2: laughs
R1: Like we save money in the group, commodities are sold and bought. Were getting money from three
places. Gram sabha is also helping us.
R2- Yes.
M1: So you are telling that the group is getting money from three places, what is the SHG doing?
M1- The make savings, provide loans, conduct meetings in eight days as you said, right? Do they give some
time of information or training? Like do your group give such information?
R1- Like they tell us to take loans, make savings, cattle farming etc.
M1: They tell many things but as you aren't that educated hence you feel difficult to get their things?
R1- Yes.
M1- Ok like making women together, distributing works to them, these sort of problems do come?
R1- Yes.
R2- When women are told to come to meetings, they don't come.
R2- Hmm…
M1- So you are saying that you are getting loans in time but the savings that you should get aren't given at
time?
R2- Yes.
M1- Ok tell me that have you heard about Women rights centre?
R2- No.
R2- No.
M1- Like is there any woman in the village who makes cards for people? Gives pension? Someone who
resolves the problems of people?
M1- Ok so two sisters are there who stand by the happiness and sorrows?
R2- Yes.
R1- No.
R1- No.
R3- No.
M1- So you now tell about SHG and GRC women, what do they do and whatever difficulties they are facing.
M1- As there are many training activities conducted by GRC, is there any such training activity given to you?
R2- No.
M1- Has there been any training from GRC about the job card? Like this MGNREGA job card?
R2- Yes.
M1- For how many days did you get the money?
M1- As it's like some got full payment where others didn't get the money, have you complained about this
issue?
M1- As you have worked through job card, is there any woman who have worked through job card?
R1- Yes.
M1- Have the women from the group helped you getting government schemes, getting pensions?
R2- Yes they came, like the Ladli sister came from panchayat.
M1- What have the sister helped like getting pensions, getting some I'd done, getting government schemes
etc?
M1: So they only gave you information? Have they helped in getting pensions, getting some I'd done, getting
government schemes?
R2- No.
M1- Ok.
M1- As we know that women face violence in their home like getting beaten up by their husband, facing
abuses, other domestic violences, is there any woman in the village who is facing such issues?
R1- Now there are 150 houses in the village, where one or two cases might be coming in night, who looks
after such things?
M1- Like facing such abuses? Now you tell fourth sister?
(Indistinct chatter)
M1- Like as now the sister told that some women face such abuses in their home like getting beaten?
(Indistinct chatter)
M1- I'm asking you straight that do some women get beaten?
R2- Yes.
R2- Yes.
M1- Like as the Alka sister was telling in the morning that she didn't want to go to the field but her husband
made her bound to come to the field?
R1- Yes.
(Not audible)1:03:00
M1- Tell quickly it will be over now.
M1- Yes you told ver good. Now tell us there's something else related to such work?
M1- Alright, let's move forward. Okay sister, you think about the entire GRC, SHG, LAK, NAK, CRP, all
of these, and tell me how effective and helpful they are in fulfilling the needs of village women?
M1- The programs that are being run, the work being done by the groups, and those involved in NAK,
LAK, and other activities – how effective are they in addressing the needs of village women? How good are
they at fulfilling their requirements?
M: Why is it good?
R2- Because they bring work, they bring schemes, and they inform about things there, they explain all the
work, that's why it's good.
M1: Because they bring work, they bring schemes for you all that’s why it's good? So, there are many
benefits for you all, meaning the women, that's why it's good. Okay. Alright, think a bit more about this
program, and tell me, the ongoing activities, meetings, savings, your regular visits, the training and
guidance you receive – all those who are working in these programs, like the many sisters who are
involved, right? So, in this program, what efforts are being made, what are they trying to achieve?
M: They are also trying to help the sisters and the women of the village to progress further, right?
R2- Yes, they are making efforts so that the people of the village also improve and progress.
M1- Do you think that the program that is being implemented can further improve the lives of women? Like
what they are currently doing – saving, providing loans, conducting meetings, promoting education,
cleanliness, and so many other activities. They are doing a lot of work. Apart from these, what do you think
can be done to enhance the lives of women?
R2: And also make efforts to boost the confidence of women going forward.
R2: Make efforts to boost confidence during meetings. Encourage them to speak up and explain that
progress comes from moving forward.
M1- What else can be done to better women’s lives? Tell me. Like I'm speaking about those who are
running the program, they are already doing so much work and because of this, women have improved
compared to before. So, for them to become even better, what else can be done?
M1- How much trust do you have in the GRC, SHG, and GPP programs to improve the lives of women?
M1- Is there a specific reason for having so much trust in these programs?
R3: Because these activities bring people together, communicate, and help women strive for progress.
M1: So, what else can be done in this program to further increase your trust in it?
R2: Bring in some work from the panchayat, any kind of work that brings benefits, like housing.
M1: Alright, if there are any points that were missed during the conversation, you can let me know. I've
had a detailed conversation with you, but if you feel there's something I should have asked and it's on
your mind, you can ask me.
R1- No, we don't have anything else.
M2: Alright then, thank you very much to all of you for giving us your time.
