TASK DESCRIPTION
Objective:
To effectively and safely assemble an aircraft wing section by connecting wooden wing ribs and
spars in accordance with industry standards and best practices, ensuring structural integrity and
precision in the laboratory setting.

Task Steps:
1. Materials and Tools Gathering:
Assemble all necessary materials and tools, including wooden wing ribs, wing spars, fasteners,
measuring instruments, adhesives, and safety equipment.
2. Wing Rib and Spar Preparation:
Examine the wooden wing ribs and spars to ensure they meet the required specifications.
Perform any necessary modifications or adjustments to the wing ribs, such as cutting spar
notches or making precise measurements.
3. Assembly Procedure:
Connect the wing ribs and spars (front spar and rear spar), ensuring proper alignment and secure
fastening. You may use screws for fastening. Make a hole for screw inserts prior to installation.
Double-check if there are any gaps in the spar notches. You may use wood filler to fix the gaps.
Distance between each wing rib should be 12 inches. 2 inches for each outside spar allowance.

Step 3, in this step we connect the wing ribs and spars to ensure the proper alignment,
and also we use screws to secure fastening.

Step 4, This is our finished project. We modify the wing ribs as needed, such as
measuring the wood and cutting the spar notches, to ensure they fulfill the required
standards. Following that, we join the wing ribs and spars to guarantee perfect
alignment and secure fastening using fasteners. Additionally, we used wood fillers to
cover any gaps, and we finished our project with a coat of primer.
