My family's carbon footprint is (0.33 t) CO2 per month (in my family there are 4 of us so it
would be 1.3 tCO2). This in the year is 16.28 metric tons of carbon diocide
The precise calculation of the average carbon footprint of a Colombian family per month
can vary depending on several factors, such as family size, consumption habits, type of
housing, transportation used, among others.
According to a World Bank report, the average per capita carbon footprint in Colombia is
approximately 1.8 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO2e) per year. To calculate
the monthly average, we simply divide this value by 12 months, which results in
approximately 0.15 tCO2e per month per person.
My family's carbon footprint is double the average per family in colombia, but less than
the world average.
This is for several reasons, starting with the case of Colombia. My family and I are well
above the average. This may be caused by the number of flights we take per year and the
amount of electricity we consume per month in my house.
For other hand, reducing our carbon footprint involves taking steps to reduce greenhouse
gas emissions in our daily lives. This includes practicing energy efficiency, using sustainable
means of transportation, consuming responsibly, opting for renewable energy, recycling
and promoting environmental awareness. Every individual action counts in building a
sustainable future and mitigating the effects of climate change.
