At least one output is active.
The function element is ready and is waiting for a start signal.
The function element is waiting for the startup test. When the startup test is active, the sensor that is
being monitored must be actuated once. Faults must not occur here.
A time function is running.
Wiring fault. For input cells this means that the substitute value is active.
Logic error. Example: The status of the feedback contact does not match the desired value.
•1 Forcing enables commissioning of the plant without hardware by right click on the signal
• Only available in test mode
• Manual manipulation of signal states
• Output pins of all software elements can be forced ( 2 )
• Test of safety logic through incomplete plant installation
• Active connection to PG/PC necessary (Online connection to 3SK2 Basic Unit)

In order to establish a connection with the PROFINET interface module, the PG/PC interface must first be set.
This can be found under 1 “Options“ → “Settings” → 2 Online & diagnostics” → “Default connection path for
online access”. Select the interface of your PG/PC that is connected to the PROFINET IM ( 3 ).
When the PROFINET IM is put into operation for the first time, it must first be provided with a PROFINET device
name in order to establish a connection with the PG/PC.
•1 Select „Online & diagnostics“
•2 „PROFINET Interface“ → „Functions“
→ „Assign PROFINET device name“
•3 Select the PG/PC interface

set device filter if necessary 3
Now it is possible to load via the PROFINET IM. At the first load, the IP address configured in the project is
assigned for the PROFINET IM.

•1 Project libraries are used to better organize and sort plans within a project.
The individual plans, which are to serve as templates, can be inserted
1
within the “Master copies" section.
•2 Global libraries are used to reuse charts across projects and users. New
global libraries can be created, opened, saved, and closed again. The
folder function is also available here.
Optionally you can store your chart in „Master copies“ in the project library or a global library for use in other
projects again

Former projects can be migrated from SIRIUS Safety ES V 1.0 (*.sdp) to TIA Portal V17 (*.ap17).
In order to migrate macros from your project (*. sdp), you have to create the stored macros ( 1 ) as individual
plans first ( 2 ), save your project and close Safety ES. For the migration, proceed as follows.

• It is quite possible to configure several 3SK2 in one and the same TIA Portal
V17 project.
• In this case, any additional devices have to be inserted into the project via “Add
1
new device” or “Upload device as new station”.
• The configuration of the individual 3SK2 takes place independently of each other
2
(see 1 and 2 ).
• There are applications which require to read out the diagnostics data from the 3SK2 by
means of a SIMATIC S7 CPU. In this case, both devices can be configured
independently in one and the same project (see 1 and 2 ).
• For data exchange between the two devices, the 3SK2 PROFINET IM is available.
