Introduction

The present work, referring to the English course, will address relevant issues and even
purposes related to me and the course that I am currently attending, because the course
is called agriculture and livestock.

The work sought to present in a simple and objective way the principles and
fundamentals related to the choice of my course while describing the historical
trajectory emphasizing its importance and contributions to the communities of my
country.

In the course of the work, find in it, the reason why I chose the present course,
chronologies, challenges, difficulties and even dreams to achieve after the conclusion of
the course, even knowing that there is a long way to go along the course, but already it
is known what those who aspire sometimes achieve.

1
Development

When I was seven years old, I lost my father, leaving only my mother and my brother,
as I was the oldest with a disabled mother. We went through many extraordinary
difficulties, but none of them were so painful, only hunger was the main reason for
despair for everyone at home, on the other hand, thanking God, I had neighbors who
sometimes cared about us, for these and other reasons, I realized that in the country,
especially in the city where I was hungry, it didn't just shake me, but those of more
family members, I also realized that agriculture and livestock are the bases of the
development of a country, In addition, the current situation and the advances observed
over the years, data are presented that there is a tendency towards projects related to
agriculture and livestock, and that there is a need to fight hunger using and transmitting
the knowledge that an agricultural and livestock course can subsidize us.

When we started to make small-scale farms and raise cafreal chickens, we faced
challenges, and many times it was not as profitable as expected due to the effort put into
it. and prosperity of man, but also place them as proactive elements of Development for
family support. But with the passage of time I was perfecting and enjoying this practice,
hence the passion for agriculture and livestock.

The main reason why I attend the agricultural and livestock course is to contribute to the
reduction of absolute poverty in the midst of communities most vulnerable to hunger. I
joined unilicungo in 2016, and I am currently attending the fourth year, as throughout
the course we study animal anatomy, animal physiology, diseases that cause poor
reproduction of animals such as foot-and-mouth disease, scabies, brucellosis, diarrhea in
offspring, oestrosis, pneumonia, fasciolosis plants and pests and weeds that can lead to
death, we study breeds and recreates, how to graze animals, how to feed animals using
food technology, which are favorable environments for the creation of certain animals,
we also study types of soil to improve production of each type of culture.

For each subject studied by me, it had a positive impact on the acquisition of knowledge
reconciled with experience. If in the past, the production of food crops was processed
slowly, today they occur quickly, however, it should be credited to the process of
globalization in progress in the big world transformation that is taking place at the
moment, and especially the one that should occur more intensely at the turn of the
century. This new change is overwhelming, causing waves of behavioral changes and,

mainly, bringing in its essence an immeasurable amount of information after the course
itself requires a lot of practice in relation to theory, the agriculture-livestock course had
two aspects, one for teaching and another for rural extinction, according to my objective
I chose to lean in the rural extension, accompanied by the engineer Vanda we had the
opportunity to practice better in the digudia field, murropwe fields, in the cement
production chair, and as for livestock we had pharmacology, where we learn that we
must be exemplary in the treatment and management of our own animals; to have a
correct behavior with the creators; Recognizing and treating the most important diseases
must always respect drug dosages; you must always record the treatments in the log
book; not to carry out activities outside its competence; keep veterinary material well;
maintain good relations with the Institute of Veterinary Services.

Well, after completing my course, I would like to work in the agricultural sector and
implement particularly intensive farming of cafrial chicken as well as rice cultivation,
given that, Despite the weak development of agriculture in Mozambique, the country
has great potential for the medium and long term to develop an agriculture that ensures
sustainable growth. Currently, the development of different agro-ecological zones is
constrained by the weakness of infrastructure: roads and bridges, railways, secondary
ports, electrification, fuel distribution stations, telecommunications, commercialization
facilities, supply and storage of goods, river regulation, water storage and irrigation,
technological research centers and technical and professional training, and others.

The greater agrarian potential of the Central and Northern areas of Mozambique is not
yet fully exploited; in addition to infrastructure, there are social and economic
characteristics and dynamics that affect and constrain, or boost, the capacity to exploit
and develop the natural agrarian potential of these areas.

The dynamic elements that must be considered in the analysis of the agricultural sector
in Mozambique include:

 Low use of improved technologies, including seeds, fertilizers and pesticides;

 Inequalities in access and use of land;
 The weak concentration of irrigation infrastructure in priority areas;
 Poor access to input and factor markets;
 Weak financial support for producers;

3
Geographical dispersion of production zones according to agro-ecological zones
defined, which constitutes an important factor in the definition of differentiated
strategies and the low volumes of production per individual, which requires an
accumulation function that can be taken advantage of through producer associations.

4
Conclusion

The fact that the agricultural sector in Mozambique is essentially constituted by the
family sector, which contrasts with the dualistic structure that other countries present,
creates some difficulties, but also presents an opportunity to promote a pro-poor growth
strategy, emphasizing the need to transform the family sector.

The State must support the gradual transformation of subsistence producers into
commercial producers, encourage and consolidate the emergence of associative groups,
as a privileged and strategic form of producer organization and community
participation, improve the technical skills and level of organization of producers, bet on
crop diversification as a way of responding to market signals and shifting towards more
commercial agriculture.
