of a South Korean feature film produced in 2013. The production has 2 hours of
12 minutes in length and focuses on The main emotion when telling a story that
revolves around a father who suffers from an intellectual disability and is unjustly

4 ENREDO (Aquino)

The story of the film begins with the eccentric life of the protagonist Memo,
who is mentally handicapped, Ova, and Memo's grandmother, who live in a rural
area close to a city in the troubled Turkey of the 1980's - the country had just
gone through a coup d'état and the political scene was somewhat chaotic,
centralized, and repressive. The plot thickens when Memo sees a backpack that
Ova wanted, but when he tries to buy it, he is frustrated that the son of the
country's commander at the time has bought it for his daughter instead. Some
time later, the same girl was playing in an area near Memo's house when she
had an accident and died.
Memo, who was nearby and tried to help the girl is arrested and found
guilty without a trial for the girl's murder. He is then taken to a prison where he
will spend most of the rest of the movie and suffers a lot at first with his cellmates
but then gets along when they realize that he was innocent. Meanwhile Ova was
trying to find a witness who had seen the whole scene with the help of his teacher
and later the prison warden who would truly find the witness. Memo's daughter
even goes to visit her father without her grandmother knowing, and in a letter she
leaves, she makes her grandmother understand that she committed suicide,
causing her grandmother to have a fatal heart attack. But before he can give his
testimony and save Memo, he is killed and Memo is also sentenced to be hanged.
The inmates did not want this to happen, because they knew that he was
innocent and that he was a "special" person. They then make and execute a plan
to replace Memo with an inmate who wanted to make amends with God for his
sins and not allow the Commandant to see the exchange. The plan is successfully
executed and Memo is taken out of the prison to meet Ova, who are then taken
to a boat to Greece where they will live without having to worry about their
persecutors.
5 LIÇÃO E MORAL (Theo)

Now talking about the good things we can get out of this story for our lives,
here are some lessons about love and empathy regarding the film.
The first is that respect is essential for life. If you look closely at our society,
we are constantly labeling each other as “normal” and “abnormal”. The Miracle in
Cell 7 teaches us to look at what is inside the other.
This movie also tackles a sad reality: the desire to believe a comfortable
lie. We can never let ourselves be dominated by hatred, as this makes us blind
and liable to believe anything we are told. As difficult as the situation may be, you
have to face the truth for what it is.
Another lesson that the film teaches us is that good friendships are
fundamental in difficult times. The friendship built in prison was all Memo needed
to survive in that hostile place. Throughout our lives we meet different people and
some of them actually get a place in our hearts.
And lastly, you can be a miracle in someone's life. The film invites us to
rethink our actions and teaches us that we can make a difference in someone's
life.

6 CONCLUSÃO (Renó)

Friendship and respect are 2 essential elements that the film shows for us
to become a better person in the middle of society, and we must also have
acceptance and face the truth of things, because we are disoriented when the
“chip drops” and we realize the reality.
The film also has mostly Turkish actors, showing a great production, great
story, making anyone cry when seeing the entire movie. The characters are very
diverse so that it has a special touch in the film, like Memo who has an illness.
