1. What leads to violence and what will be the best way to cure
violence?
Violence is best understood as an epidemic health problem, and it can be
effectively prevented and treated using health methods to stop events and
outbreaks and to reduce its spread.

There are already some institutions that work in curing violence such as this
one, Cure Violence is a Violence interruption program for anti-violence. It aims
to stop the spread of violence in communities by using the methods and
strategies associated with public health and disease

This organization means to stop the spread of violence by using the methods
and strategies associated with disease and here some examples of what we
can do: Detecting and interrupting conflicts, Identifying and treating the
highest risk individuals, Changing social norms. Violence is like an epidemic
disease…and it can be effectively prevented using health methods. It stops
the spread of violence by using the methods associated with disease control.

We think that the best ideas to be able to solve once and for all the great
problem of violence would be to literally change the norms and reduce things
that incite violence.

Here we have some ideas to increase the possibilities to hace a cure of

violence: increase healthy, stable, and nurturing relationships between
children and their parents or caregivers; develop life skills in children and
adolescents; reduce the availability and harmful use of alcohol; among other
ideas.

2. Why does the United States have such a high crime rate
compared to the rest of the world and how is crime treated
differently in the United States compared to other highly
developed countries?
Overall the total crime rate of the United States is higher than other developed
countries, such as Canada or Iceland. There are many reasons why this
happened, to begin with it is important to consider that not one country in the
globe doesn´t have conflicts between their people, but this “conflicts” or
“crimes” are clearly higher in the US. By being one of the most developed
countries in the world, the United States have gathered many enemies
throughout the decades, many of these enemies have resulted in wars
between other countries and the US, and sometimes even in terrorist attacks.

We believe it all starts in the type of education this country provides, by the
education being so expensive to the people, some of them have to appeal to
committing crime such as robbery or embezzlement to provide their families
and give their children education of quality. In the other hand other, highly
developed countries like Canada, have solutions to prevent this type of
problems, they have programs and initiatives so that their population stays
friendly and does not appeal to crime so that they can survive. These solutions
start from giving people free quality education, which is a basic need for
everyone to giving people jobs with also a quality payment.
