Germans are having a closer look at their priorities and are taking a more minimalist
approach to beauty as inflation impacts many and continues to be a concern. This gives
hybrid and multipurpose concepts a boost, due to their high value for money and time-saving
aspects, as priorities shift towards affordability and simplicity. Too-elaborate routines won't
hold up, as Germans don't want to invest the time and money in lengthy routines, many
spending less than 15 minutes on their regime in the morning and evening. However, looking
beyond simplicity, Germans draw confidence from their personal regime and enjoy
exploring new products.

Skin concerns are at the centre of attention, with 70% of Germans having one or more skin
concerns, and they are looking for guidance to find products that work. Virtual analysis
systems and personalised options can give those with skin problems the help they need.

Brands should educate about active ingredients, but also normalise concerns to connect
with their users.

An emerging group showing interest in the beauty regime are young men who, exposed to
social media trends, are beginning to explore beauty and grooming products beyond sheer
utility. 73% of men aged 16-34 who do beauty/grooming tasks feel that always looking their
best is important to them, yet men remain an underserved group in the beauty sector.
