Danika Joplin and I will be your mediator for today, I am a partner at K and K, I have
specialised in commercial disputes all of my career with special emphasis on cross border
commercial disputes, you can refer to me as Madam mediator or Danika anything that you
are comfortable with,
Firstly at the onset I’d like to take this opportunity to thank both parties for agreeing to
Mediation as your form of dispute resolution, its great to see both parties here on a weekday,
Its been a while since ive seen the parties arrive before the mediator … this sets a very
positive tone to the process and hopefully we can carry this tone forward as well.
I’m aware that both parties are well acquainted with each other, but just for clarity if we can
go around the room introducing ourselves, the capacity the at which the parties are here today
and lastly if were to move towards any consensus, if the concerned parties have the authority
to do so.
