The purpose of this Learning Cohort Reflection is to allow for consistent knowledge
sharing and engagement.

Name of the session: Women’s Leadership Summit – panel 2

This submission belongs to: Rabi’atul ‘Adawiyah Zunnurain Haji Terudin

Reflecting on your journey as Human Rights Advocate so far:

 What did you like about the session? Also share some of the things you learned in this
session that could be used in your everyday life as a Human Rights Advocate.

The sharing session from all panel’s members about Gender bias from their own real experience
were very interesting. Young people are not problems, “we are the problem solver, so bring us in
as your partner for solving all the problem bring us to the decision-making table, let us in, not
only that but continuously engage with us and continue to make a sustainable movement.”

Reflecting on the WLA:

 How has this session added to your journey as part of the Women’s Leadership
Academy?

I learned 3 things from one of the panels.

1. The historic times we are living at

Many historical that’s happening, two years affecting by a pandemic, quarantine, new
things going on. History books will have aa lot of things to say during our generation and
generation below us

Challenge or resilience, adapting new changes going on. pandemic, working, travel
restrictions everywhere. we are a trail blazer, living on historical times and shaping our
perspectives.
.

2. Identity
We are shaped by so many advances, thru social media. When we see someone posting a
campaign or joining a march, we wanted to be a part of that. When we talk about gender
were talking about identity. Our identity is shaped into so many different things. Through
our college peers and peers. It can be a challenge and an inspiration for other young
people.

3. Tokenism
Buzz word, in terms of working in development. Putting young people only for show but
not truly engaging them with policy making and the decision making of many of the
things that leaders are doing.
