What is identity formation?

 Identity Formation, when we say persisting entity it is the development of an individual's distinct
personality
 Pieces of actual identity includes
1. Sense of uniqueness from others
2. Sense of continuity
3. Sense of affiliation

How do individual gain social identity?

Affiliation ito yung you are closely associated with or connected sa isang tao, group, and company

Yung self-concept is perception o pag unawa na mayroon tayo sa ating sarili , inaanswer nya yung
question na who am i?

Yung self-consciousness is awareness mo sa sarili mo

Cutural identity

cultural identities include sexuality, gender, religion, ethnicity, social class, or region.
Ethnic identity

Refers to one's sense of belonging to an ethnic group and the part of one's thinking
perceptions, feelings, and behavior that is due to ethnic group membership.
National identity

a person's identity or a person's sense of belonging to one state or to one nation.


Religious identity

refers to how individuals develop their personal sense of religious and/or spiritual
identity

Ascribe and achieved status


Ascribe
Ito yung biological factor kung saan hindi siya nababago through efforts and is typically
based on sex, age, race, family relationships, or birth, while achieved status may be based on
education
Role set
describes various roles and relationships as a consequence of a person's societal status. A role set
can include connected behaviors, rights, obligations, norms, and beliefs as actualized in social
situations by people.
Role expectations
the traits, attitudes, and behaviors considered appropriate for an occupant of a particular position
within a group or social setting.
