Hello, I am a student at UAS and today

I come to explain to you what is the lunar new year.

It is celebrated every 60 years and it is composed of five simple

cycles of 12 years each one.

what is the purpose of the festival?

The Chinese New Year celebration starts from New Year's Eve and lasts about 15
days until the middle of the first month. This festival involves the largest
movement of people in China, filling all means of transportation, as everyone
travels to meet their family or friends.

Preparations begin before the celebration, as first the house must be completely
cleaned and traditional decorations must be displayed. Ancestors are also
remembered and prayed for in order to be on the "good side", and improve the
chances of good fortune in the coming year, among many other traditions,
although the most important part of this holiday is the time for family reunion.
People visit family and friends, go shopping, watch traditional Chinese shows, set
off fireworks, and plan for the coming year.

Nowadays, this holiday is celebrated by gathering all the
family and friends to admire the bright moon, tasting
some delicious moon cakes or yuebing together with a
tasty tea.
