Safety requirements
The safety requirements for the control, operation, maintenance and repair of
the system must comply with the Occupational health and safety management
systems (B S OHSAS 18001:2007), Safety Rules for Operation of Customers’
Electrical Installations, Rules for Safety in the Oil and Gas Industry, Interindustry Rules
on Labor Safety.
When the supply voltage is applied to VSD and the circuit breaker of the «0-SUT»
downhole measuring system of the VSD is on, a voltage of 100 V is supplied.
Therefore, you must comply with the relevant electrical safety requirements when
installing the pumping unit.
Safety recommendation
Downhole measuring system must be installed, adjusted and serviced by
qualified electrical maintenance personnel. Improper installation or operation may
cause injury to personnel or damage to equipment. The Downhole measuring system
must be installed and grounded in accordance with local and national electrical
codes. There is a high level of voltage in drive’s cabinet. Extreme care must be taken
to ensure all power sources are disconnected before starting installation,
maintenance and repair jobs. Once repairs are completed, the Downhole measuring
system connections must be reestablished.
Safety Procedures
Work inside the cabinets must be performed with the power off. Isolate energy
source(s) and use proper Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and Personal
Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure personnel safety. The Panel/Board also
contains stored sources of energy in the form of capacitors. Allow sufficient time
after power is removed for those capacitors to discharge to a safe level below 50 V
DC.
Description
General information about Triol TM01-05/15/25/28 Downhole
Measuring System
Triol TM01-05/15/25/28 Downhole Measuring System is unique, premium,
highly accurate and reliable solution for systems where is a need to accurately
monitor pressure and temperature (only Triol TM01-15/25/28) at pump discharge; to
collect, process, display and quickly transfer submersible equipment actual
parameters, at fluid temperature of 125°C (257°F) for Triol TM01-05/15, 150°C
(302°F) for Triol TM01-25 and 175°C (347°F) for TM01-28, fluid temperature at pump
discharge up to 250°C (428°F) (only Triol TM01-15/25/28) and equipment
suspension zone pressure up to 40 MPa (5800 psi).
The Surface unit can be built into a VSD – in this case it has IP20 enclosure and
either has a display for displaying parameters (Triol Surface Card) or does not have a
display (Triol Surface Board) – or be installed next to a VSD in a protected box with
an IP56 enclosure, and have UMKA-04 controller with a display (Triol Surface Panel).
The connection of the submersible units is carried out through one (Triol
TM01-05) or two (Triol TM01-15/25/28) channels bу stainless steel tubes.
Each tube has a diameter 1/4 in 316L (length - 50 m / 164,04 ft). The first
is filled with formation fluid - to control pump discharge pressure. The
second one contains а conductor with а temperature sensor inside.
Electronics, for processing pressure and temperature signals, is located in
intake sensor (TM01-05i/15i/25i/28i).
Additionally, TM01-05/15/25/28 product can include options (these options are
ordered as a separate item):
- module for digital and analog I/O;
- motor bases, motor/flange adapters for connecting submersible units to
ESMs and ESPs of various sizes;
- external High-Voltage Choke for making a “wye point” in a ground-based
transformer;
- TM01 testing complex (Triol Test unit TM01) for monitoring and testing the
performance of TM01-25 system and controlling equipment during its
assembly, installation, and trip in hole; Test Unit can act as a submersible unit
simulator (Simulator TM01i);
- submersible unit simulator (Simulator TM01i) for the Surface unit testing;
- modem for transmitting the collected data over the wireless channel (SCP
Modem). External High-Voltage Choke can be made in two versions IP20 (for
installation in the case of a power transformer - Triol High-Voltage Choke
IP20) or IP56 (for installation next to the power transformer in a separate case
- Triol High-Voltage Choke IP56).

If there is no sensor, the screen displays “0.00 No Sensor” on the Test Unit
screen.
For ТМ01-05: there is no sensor “Temperature on discharge” and it must be
written “no sensor”.
For TM01-15/25/28: all sensors must be displayed.
Winding temperature always displays “0.00 No Sensor”.
If one of the sensors fails, then the message “sensor fault” is displayed.
The Downhole sensor is serviceable if the data of all sensors is received by the
Test Unit (there are no sensor failures).
Test unit works with insulation resistance of 10 kOhm. at a lower value, the
device goes into emergency mode (the red lamp "Alarm" lights up on the Test Unit),
and there is no interrogation of the Downhole sensor until the insulation resistance
value is above 10 kOhm.
