If you were the lawyer who presided over the case of the land dispute in Calamba, would you
side with the Dominicans who have done you favors to keep your position, or with your fellow
townsfolk who demand an explanation as to why the Dominicans were keeping secrets to them
regarding taxes and land ownership? Justify your answer.

 If I were the lawyer managing the Calamba land dispute, I would understand the townspeople's
desire to know why Dominicans took tax and land ownership information from them because,
first and foremost, a person should always be fair and just in his or her practices. This is
especially true for a profession like law, where it is crucial that the individual practice equality
and fairness. Even though the Dominicans have done a lot for Mom, and despite the fact that I
am grateful to them, I will continue to support the townspeople because they are entitled to an
open response.
