Unit Title: Laws of Motion
Content Standard: The learners demonstrate an understanding of the application of Newton‘s three laws of motion and uniform circular
motion in their daily activities.
Performance Standard: The learners shall be able to develop a written plan and implement “Newton’s Olympics.”
Formation Standard: The students shall become responsible members of the community.
Transfer Goal: Students will be able to independently use their learning to solve real-life problems using Newtonian mechanics,
subsequently helping them develop a written plan and implement it.
Performance Task: The Dinamulag Festival also known as the Zambales Mango Festival is an annual festival held in the province of
Zambales in the Philippines to celebrate or encourage bountiful harvest of the province's mangoes. Every year the
government of Zambales together with the support of the community, offers various events that will emphasize the
richness of mangoes in different ways and the creativity of each Zambaleno in advertising it. As part of this, the
Governor asks you to prepare an event that is new to everyone. It will emphasize the skills of every Zambalenos to
respond in different activities that will promote not just the festival but also the skills and flexibility of every
Zambalenos, this event is called Newton’s Olympics. It will increase the excitement for everyone as they learn about
the applications of Newton's laws, Work, Power, and Energy. The event has seven stations relating to some form of
motion, work done, power, and types of energy. Groups rotate through each of these stations during a given segment of
time.

In response to the Governor’s request, the committee needs to form a group to suggest on how to properly and orderly
conduct all the runs of the event. The group must consist of Sports Organizer, Game Planner/Creator, Game Tracker
and Resource Checker. It will be evaluated based on concepts/content accuracy, mechanics & organization, creativity
& audience appeal and relevance.

Unit Title: Sound and Light
Content Standard: The learners demonstrate an understanding of the propagation and transmission of sound through solid, liquid, and gas.
The learners demonstrate an understanding of some properties and characteristics of visible light.
Performance Standard: The learners should be able to formulate simple experiment that shows the propagation and transmission of sound and
light waves in different media that will help them further understand their effects in their life and the natural
environment.
Formation Standard: The learners will become responsible members of the community by learning the proper use of light and sound.
Transfer Goal: The learners will on their own be able to independently use their learning to conduct simple experiment that show the
propagation and transmission of sound and light waves in different media that will help them further understand their
effects in their life and the natural environment.
Performance Task: Science week is coming and schools are thinking of what activity will interest students to participate into. They were
thinking of how can their event will be authentic and applicable in the real-life situation. So the school decided to
conduct an Art Exhibit depicting the question “What can I do without sound, light and heat?” The students are asked to
present their piece of arts through a poster, jingle, poem and painting. It will be evaluated based on concepts/content
accuracy, mechanics & organization, creativity & audience appeal and relevance.
